Ok, so after figuring out how wpg generally works as an estimate.. Now I'm still pretty offput about how long to veg for. Does it matter if I veg longer if my lights are weak?

The bigger the roots the bigger the fruits. To realize 1 gram/watt you have to fill your grow space and have the right size light for your space. If you are trying to do this with a 400 watt light in a full 4X4 tent you are probably going to be disappointed. There’s a professional grower here with the legal records to prove he’s pulling 2+ grams/watt. But they’ve spent a fortune on air handling equipment and lights. Legal grow op in Alaska.

if your veg lights are weak it will take longer to fill your space. Depending on the type of light it will be more or less stacked internode spacing wise which also has an impact on yield.

I think you might mean watts per square foot though rather than GPW. One is a rough idea on lighting up a space and the other is a rough judgement on your growing skills, genetics and performance of flowering light with a touch of dick swing thrown in.

Yes and no (sorry)
I don't know your set up or what your trying to do but if using a weak veg light, veg will be longer to get to the same size as veging under a more powerful light. (not necessarily a bad thing depending on what your doing)
If your flower light is a weak light then u probably don't want to veg very long as weak lights don't have much penetration so long veg could be wasted time (but again not always the case as you could do a scrog and penetration doesn't play a big part)

I had to veg 3 plants for 10 weeks to fill up my 4x4 just using t5s. This is at 6 weeks from flip so obviously better lights would have a better yield but I like them for veg. 20190827_111021.jpg
