watering my plants

i have just transplanted my plants from a lil red 16 oz. cups to 3 gallon pots. My question is, when should i start soaking them to were water comes out the bottom of the pots?

Kinda depends on the medium they are in soil, soiless etc. When I first transplant I do not give them more than about 2-3 cups. The roots are not that deep that the medium needs to be soaked with enough water to soak the entire medium. Then I like to let them get pretty dry before watering again. This will make the roots grow out in search of moisture. To sum it up I don't really like to give them that much water until they are well into veg. Then the roots are strong enough to handle the flushing I do before I begin my flowering nute regimen. Good luck with the grow and +rep for taking the leap into farming.
