I doubt very much that I am the first one to think of this, but since it just occurred to me and I tried it out I thought I'd post it.
My op is about 6x8, in the corner of a spare bedroom. Some of the plants in the corner are hard to reach for watering, etc. I got the idea to cut a piece of PVC pipe and just pour it down the pipe into the pot. Works great! I cut a 45 deg angle on the pouring end to make it easier to pour into. You can direct the flow wherever you want.
