watering for seedling

I read the GrowFAQ section up and down, and im pretty sure when you water a new seedling, you water the same at any other stage of its life. Using the finger method. But then I watched a video and it said just to keep the surface , stem and leaves moist. Which one is it?

Remember, Im taking about a seed. Im in the late germination, early seedling.

I use the weight or finger method. I say use that method from the beginning. Get the plant used to its environment from the beginning. The plant will learn early how the water cycle works, and it will adapt accordingly to the "natural" watering cycle.

Ok, because that video really set things weird for me. He had sprouts about 2 inches high, and all he did was spray them a few times, rather than water them
