watering coco

hey all
im using 10ltr pots with coco coir.my question is how offen to water,shall i water more offen but less amount,or less offen with more amount of water,nutes???
first time growing in coco.

same here mate using 11ltr pots 1st week off veg at the moment..been giving my ladys half a ltr every two days with a little bit of a@b feed looking very nice at this point of time..i been told its better to give them less than too much..let me know how you get on..all the best

You should water until you get 15% run off then water again when the pot feels light. lift when dry and wet to get a rough idea

Have to agree with Serial, I strive for a good 10% run off. That's the ease of drain to waste farming for me. Alleviates guess if the girls got enough.
I'm still working my way through this amazing arena of straight coco, I've been finding some of the coir needs rinsing to eliminate the high ph lvls I get from just the soaking portion. No way in hell I'm sticking one of my clones into a 2350 ec reading with ph so high it turns my solution violent red!
So, I'm hoping someone with time with this medium will understand how to do the ph lowering better than I am now. Mine, so far, is time consuming.
The girls growing on the old type of coir I had, hell they are doing marvelous, looking yummy even in veg :bigjoint:
