Watering auto’s - fan leaf claws

Hello my RIU friends, I’m running some autos right now that are around week 2 in flower (6wks old). I ran a few rounds of autos for the connivence of the light schedule, you can just keep going all stages in one space.

I wanted to get feedback on two questions, opinions on watering and clawing fan leaves.

Environment - 5x10 tent
Lighting - MH ts3000 x2
T/H - 85°-77° / 55%-65%
ffof soil and jacks 321 nutrients with recharge every other feed. In 5 gallon mesh pots filled around 2/3

Air ventilation and circulation more then adequate.

When it comes to watering - do you guys wait until leaves sag or base it off the weight of the pot? These girls feel like they’re dry however they don’t look it. Top 2/3” of soil is dry and I don’t feel moisture on the bottom.

Should I water now or wait for slight sag?

Second question as to do with clawing. These I believe the clawing started with the use of Purecrop1 (treating some pest). I’m guessing this is nutrient based because I can’t see these girls being over watered with how light they’ve been feeling.

When it comes to the clawing, would you guys recommend any action or overlook it?

Why are you feeding more nutes into an already charged medium ? …. Based on size of plants I’m pretty sure there is plenty of nutes in medium alone.

5 gallon of FF can last for weeks ( especially for autos ).

My 2¢ … run those autos on the medium alone.
There is most likely plenty of nutes within - i can see the excess salt buildup on containers. You can literally water with TAP ( when needed) and let plant work thru the excess on its own.

Thanks for the feedback. They were showing some deficiencies on the lower nodes around week 4. So now they’re getting lightly feed. When it comes to watering though, would you water them now or wait a little longer ?

Usually I’d water right now given the fact they’re in flower. I never want them to get dust dry during the ladder half of the grow. Also want to check in with the forum to see how others operate.

Yeah FF ocean forest is hot. I used it on bottom 1/3 of my fabric pots then layer of EWC of my first grow last year during transplant. They were growing in Happy Frog initially. 2 weeks after transplant they hit the Ocean Forest layer got dark green and clawed. That soil is loaded with fish emulsion, crab meal and many other N heavy organics. You just water until about week 8 then when you flip about 2 weeks then hit them with Phosphorus and some K.

Autoflowers are more nutrient sensitive but some strains that grow taller can handle it a bit more from my growing experience so far.

I make my own organic soil now. Peat moss, coco Coir, perlite, rabbit poop, ewc and then the rock dusts 1cup per 7 gals of dirt, which is about 1 cu ft, 1 cup each of Basalt Dust, gypsum, dolomite lime and azomite.

Then I make my organic fert mix then add 3 cups of it per cu ft.
3cups Kelp Meal, 1cup Fishbone Meal, 3cups Crab meal, 1 cup Shrimp meal, 1cup Alfalfa meal, 1cup Neem Seed Meal. (I added thus much to 3cu ft for my next grow)
I did this for the last 2 grows. Never looking back. I just watered tap for 7 to 8 weeks and after flip I did banana peel tea then hit them up with Alaskan Fish Fertilzers the emulsion and Morbloom PK.

I am growing photos this current grow.

Definitely over fed, autos want less of everything. Like PAR and nutrients.
