ok so this is my story and i would greatly appreciate anyone who could help me with my new hobby. So im a a total first time grower. I did a little research and i decided to purchase the waterfarm 8 pack system by gh. I am using the flora series nutrients and a 400w hps light ( soon to be a 1000W hps sysytem). i use ph strips to check my ph and i just aim to keep it before 5.2-6.0 honestly. i have my grow room in a utility room and i have opted to use wrapping paper as a cheap alternative to mylar. i also painted my floors and door white. i hooked up a fan from a whole outside to an air duct type deal to blow in fresh co2. i am also using some yeast to produce co2. i use a squirrel fan to remove bad air. i also have one more revolving fan blowing in the room for stem strength. i use a humidifier from a local pharmacy to keep the humidity around 45. i also use a space heater to keep my room between 70 and 80f. i use some organic food safe insect killer to keep away all those pesky pest. i started 6 seeds in a dwc 10 gallon system thats homemade and they are looking good. i am about to transplant them to my waterfarm 8 pack system. i ahve them in 1.5in rockwool cubes and will be using hydroton. so now im this far and i have no idea what to do, i have so many questions? any answers to any of these would be greatly loved.... ok here goes
1) First off...i dont understand how to intially fill my waterfarm. Do i feel it up with strait normal water at first and then add a feeding of nutrients at a time. Or do i feel it up with several gallons of diluted nutrient solution? someone please tell me how to run that mother?
2)how often do i add nutrients?
3)how do i change my water out without hurting my plants?
4) is 1000w hps enough for 8 big plants honestly?
5) any recomendations on a seed bank that ships to the us
6) please make any comments on what you think of my lil adenture.
