the light blue ones let light in, as you can see in the cloner pic, but seems to have no effect on the roots.
i have a couple dark navy totes as well, as i fill an empty tote up when its time to switch the water/nutrients and just transfer the lid with plants to it. navy ones are better at keeping light out but if you hold a bright light up to them they let light through too. only have the light ones as that all was left when I went to buy some.

Oh yep.. any issues with roots browning or algae in your Res? I had a lid a bit darker than that but same sort of deal and I had to spray it black cos my res was getting a bit stinky. Since I did that mate she's been cool, clean and smelling goood

nope not really, i add some h2o2 (peroxide) every week to prevent root rot. no algae either.
also my res temp is under 20C (prob 15-16c), so that helps prevent rot too.
