wasting light?

Any leak out is potential light that could have been reflected back to the plant. Yes, it's wasted. I've never seen a one way light leak, btw.

Any light getting in,...may make a herm
any light getting out ...will carry smell?
tape it up with your gray gaffer tape
I'm sorry, laughing, light carry smell, lol. If you have an exhaust fan the smell (particles in the air) will be sucked into the exhaust and hopefully your carbon filter. Light doesn't carry smell, the best it can do is excite particles below your nose to enter your nose. This is why some people sneeze when walking out into bright light.

No, sorry, you are still wrong. If an exhaust fan is going the hole will act as an intake, air will come in not out, no smell will go out because no air does.

Lol, I need to go to school? You are the one who said light would carry out smell.

Followers? Lol, I don't even want to know how or what you think if that is on the top of your priority list.

With no air flow that would obviously be true. With exhaust running it's obviously false (assuming his exhaust isn't way undersized.)

You have to be out of your mind to build an airtight grow room if you aren't using CO2. Having only active intakes and exhausts makes for a fun balancing act. An exhaust + passive intake system is more common and it relies on holes letting air in. Just like the hole we are talking about.

Thanks everyone for the advice . much obliged i will try to seal it up with duct tape its about 7 small cracks. And i do have a 6 inch inline fan to exhaust air. But no intake someone told me i didnt need one.

You don't as long as you don't seal it up too well. You want to ensure no light gets in during dark cycle to herm your plants, but you also need to leave enough air leaks to act as your intake. You wouldn't want an intake fan as if it were not in sync with your exhaust you could blow more in that out, resulting in air and stink escaping. Using just an exhaust with passive intakes ensures no smell issues as long as your exhaust is sufficient for your space.

Yes as long as you have negative pressure any holes would be sucking air in . If in a tent or something as long as u have a decent fan and filter and u let the fan run during lights out u should be fine .
