Washing buds is good idea?? Pros and cons. ?

Hey...i had my first harvest which was having some bugs so i wash them before dry.
but what i have notice is some THC are at the bottom of the container(which i used to wash).
my question is
washing buds result in loss of THC.??
should i wash my second harvest or just go with dry process??

help me pro growers.
thank you.

canabinoids are not water soluble, but the action of washing them does knock some trichomes loose. If you grow outdoor id always recommend washing if possible. If indoor its kind of up to how clean your grow space is, how well you filter incoming airflow, how dusty the building the grow space is in is... etc etc.. I don't wash my indoor typically, but I go through a lot of effort to filter all the air that ends up in my space and I almost never get bugs or pests.

you could always filter it out of the water and then cook it into edibles to see if it has any effect, if you have that hakuna matata mind state. Me personally would toss the water out

Thanks. i will go with if you want something much better you have to loose some.

pure clean buds will result in some loss of trichomes while washing.
Cz total clean and filter airflow for grow room is not possible for me.

Washing with cold water will not separate the THC. We wish it was that simple. Washing hurts nothing.

I use my bubble bags to do just that. And there really shouldn't be that much. But it is worth dumping the wast water through them. Gently washing two clones that amounted to 8-10 lbs, I recovered around 3-3.5 grams from the wash bins, using the 220, 190, as strainers and kept what was in the 160 and 45 micron bags. Not a lot but it would have been lost. It tastes great too.

That was first done to prove that you don't lose anything appreciable when washing. I'd say out of that much washed material, 3.5 grams is a negligible amount. But,,, it's not hard to dump the bins through the buckets.

If it's not much material to start with though, I would just let it go.

Just re-read this.

I use lukewarm water to wash buds with. Using cold water can cause more trichomes to be dislodged. Like when making bubble hash.... just a thought friend.
