Was this plant root bound?

~4 gallons of soil. The plant was in the same pot for the entire veg/bloom cycle, grew to just under 3 feet tall.

Is this what root bound looks like?

i have lots more roots at the bottom.

OK cool thanks guys! Good to know 4 gallons of soil is OK for this plant under 3ft.

When plants get rootbound you will usually see the roots turning green or black. You want to see roots throughout the pot as that signifies healthy growth. Many noobs are unaware that a plant will not grow much greenery until the roots have grown out enough to support the plant. You can tell when the roots fill out the pot as that is when you are in full veg mode and seeing an inch a day growth.
