Why not use a carabiner instead of a quicklink? Easier to take apart when you need to move the lights :D

I replaced all of my light duty ratchet straps a few years ago with these Rope Ratchets. I'm using two of the 1/4" size to hold up my 400w HPS because I already had them on hand, but they make a 1/8" size also. Very easy to adjust and really rugged. If the rope breaks, just go down to any hardware store and buy a new length of rope.

RopeRatchets was one of the very best investments I ever made. The smallest, lightest duty ones (1/8") support 75lbs each, for 150lbs total.

Makes watering, working on the plants, adjusting the lights super easy and takes only seconds.

Worth every penny IMO. I got mine for ~$15/pair.
