I have pretty good insurance (from State of Florida), but OTC medications are generally not covered. Only a select few are. I think you may be mistaken

I am often prescribed over the counter meds. I don't think it was a mistake. For example, I was just recently prescribed Claritin. I get 30 a month, no charge out of my pocket. There are several others that I have been prescribed that are over the counter. Maybe I just have really good insurance.

Like I said "Only a select few are." There is some sort of federal ACA detail that regulates it. It seems there is some sort of difference in interpretation of it. I have had OTC prescriptions disallowed, then allowed, then disallowed again.

I have 3 more that are currently paid for by my insurance that are over the counter. I'm not sure what you mean by "select few". I can get just about any OTC medication that I want through my DR and my insurance will cover it. I know this, because I do it all the time.
