hey everyone, I really wanna get an HPS light. My closet is by far tall enough and also length wise good(like from left to right lol). But from the back of the closet to the door of the closet its only 37cm. Is that big enough for some kind of hps light. Or are all of em huge? Im looking at something like a 400watt.
Please help me out on this ppl. Oh yea im growing feminized PPP.
Peace, have a good day:peace:

You could fit one with a bat wing reflector in with the wings folded down. Heat maybe an issue though.

yea but I got a good fan. Do u rekon heat is still an issue with hps?? Whats the lowest amount of wattage from an Hps? Is it 250watts?

I have seen HPS all the way down to 70w. They are in security lights for buildings and shit they make them in 100 and 150 also I believe. You would have to take those apart and move the ballast somewhere outside your grow or it would just increase the temps ya know. Got to HTGsupply.com and check out their hps systems. Really cheap and they have a bunch of good options for growers. I saw on a thread here once how to make a cool tube or if you get a batwing there were directions on how to install glass so you can keep it cooler and closer to your plants. Not sure where they are now or how to link them into a reply. Good luck with your grow man and make a journal if you do.

If you have a tall closet then a 250w prob won't cause too much heat, especially with a good fan. You might have to do some training (lst, topping) to deal with the shallowness of your closet. I am growing in a 3ft vertical x 1.5 horizontal x 1 ft deep cabinet with a 250w hps (granted it's cool tubed, but that wouldn't really help too much if the hot air is just exhausted to another part of your closet). Using mandala's satori, I got almost three ounces out of it. P.s in a small space hydro is a near must so the plants roots can stretch.

If height is no problem, you could use a 250w hps as long as you vent the heat and stale air out of your closet, an oscillating fan only moves air, it doesnt remove the heat and stale air. Aswell, you need to fan and duct a cooltube, otherwise it would be senseless having a cooltube.
250w hps bulbs are around 30cms long, you might have enough room for it and the E40 ceramic connector. If you have, and you have the heat sorted, you could build an adjustawing as mentioned above, you could make the adjustawings depth around 36cm by whatever width you need for you footprint.

ok, I will check out my local hydro shop. I will probably get a 150 or maybe 200. Well we'll see.
Thanks everyone for your help!
