I have been using Scotts with alittle perlite mixed in and a little more at the bottom. I will make sure and purchase two more CFL's tonight.

Marcus, if you watch Lowes they will put HPS lights on sales from time to time for dirt cheap. I bought mine for like $10 PER light a few months ago. I know have 5 HPS lights in my setup and it is a flowering machine.

I suspect I will always veg with CFL. I have a great veg setup adn have no desire to change it to MH. In fact, IMO, my CFL does better than any MH setup I have seen. At least for less 10 plants or less.

Dude if you really want buds but can't afford the lights for a proper flowering, I would suggest growing outside. Get a good veg indoors and those things will be monsters by the fall.

those clip on sockets cost about $4-$5. They work great. I just hand Braided line down, and Use it to raise and lower my lights on.

I went to both stores today, Lowes and HD, and yes they do. LIKE FOR $5.88, 9.98 AND $11.67 EACH depending on size and kind of clamp.

Hmmmm, I havent checked there yet.....do they have them in 2700K range. It seems like the only ones I can find are the flood lamp CFL.

I'm sorry. The cfls I got from lowes are 40w with 2600 lumens. Use at least 4 of these. They work great.

I was at both stores yesterday, and yes, both stores have them, taht come in Reflectors, in 6, 8 and ten inch reflector widths. About $5.98 , 7.98 and $11.98 each. They had 42 watt spiral CFLS too. I added 4.

My Thread on Hydro bubbleponics and Advise here:

I am on my third grow, Bubbleponics, and I am doing everything different this time, going against all the rules just to experiment. I went from 24/7 to 12/12 in 2 hour a day increments, BIG WASTE OF TIME!!! I 'll always just jump from 24/7 to 12/12 from now on.
I started flowering at about 8 weeks, and had 3 plants in two tanks, one at two feet, one at 3 feet and one at 3 and half feet tall. I 'm going to get a nice BIG harvest too.
I leaned a lot about Oxygen, using Air Stones and changing water and nutes more often. Even if I am adding back the same water and nutes, it is a good idea to expose the roots to air (but not light) very often as possible. Gives you Growth Spurts. !!!

Just got back from Home Depot and got 4 of the 23W CFL's in the 2700K range hanging over/around the top which give me a total of 6400 lumens. Plus I am using two 24" wallmart floro tubes along the sides which add another 1000 or so lumens.

This is all for one 12" female, I threw out the male.

So, small grow in a closet on a budget. Here is what I would recommend:

Buy 4 26w 6500k CFLs. Install them into a clip on light with a reflector. Surround the plant. You know you have a female, right?

When your ready to flower replace the 6500k with 4 new 42w 2700K CFLs. Take her through harvest with these.

If your going to use MG soil, at least put some more perlite in the soil for better rot health. MG hold water pretty bad. Not a good thing for weed. A small bag of perlite will set you back $5. It will be well worth it.

have fun and enjoy. Be prepared. Pot is not addictive, but growing is. :D
When you say 42w 2700K CFLs are you talking about the kind that screw in or the 4 prong kind like these??....eBay: LOT OF 4 SYLVANIA DULUX T/E IN 42W FLUORESCENT BULB NIB (item 180110688072 end time May-01-07 13:59:07 PDT) If so would purchasing these bulbs be a better deal than Lowes or Home Depot??

the cfl's should run just under $10 a bulb, the reflector sockets you can find in the electrical center of home depot, regular screw in, under $10 each also. hope this helps:joint::peace:
