Extra-Terrestrial parasitic invasion?

Seriously though, those are male parts forming. You have hermaphrodite bud!

Yes, happend to me too! Luckly I had an "intersex" plant and not a hermi. The difference? An "intersex" plant is a prodominatly female plant that has a couple (usually less than several) male flowers. (Read about it today in "Marijuana Horticulture: Indoor and Outdoor Medical Marijuana Cultivation" the title might not be exact as I read it in Barnes & Nobel, didn't buy it.) You have a very obvious hermie.

You can do one of two things. 1) let it grow, flower/bud, seed up, then take the seeds and make hash from the plant (one plant= not alot of hash) or 2) kill it. The only thing I don't know right now is will hermie seeds produce a hermie plant?

This could actually be something not so bad...

I can't speak from personal experience, but I have learned that the pollen from those "intersex" bannana-shaped sacks can produce feminized seeds. I may be way off base here, but has anyone else heard of this?

from what i understand of it; you could without question say that it will not be a male; after that, i am no scientist. but the science behind it is just like when we reproduce, cannabis has two sets of genes, one from each parent; if both parents were female, (thus both female genes) the resulting progeny could not be male; although i have no clue about hermies. i will see; have one plant that has one seed visible in a lower bud from an intersexed plant; harvested most of it about 3wks ago, but leaving the bottom until that seed has matured.

Thanks for your advice guys. I only have one 250 watt MH/HPS light and two other females. Sooo I have some serious thinking to do. Because I'm pretty sure if it self-pollinates its all female seeds? Am I wrong? As long as the hermie is stress-induced and not hereditary. And this plant did have a rough transplant at the end of vegg...
But I can't very well let it pollinate my other bitches. So Ill let yall know what I do!

lets step into our time machine back to tenth grade biology, to a little thing called the punnett square. it state that even a hermys possibility of male and female reproduction is 50/50 to give it maximum reproductive chanves. because after all charles darwin stated that the species that is doing the best is the one that has the most surviving offspring

but we aren't speaking of a true hermaphrodite here, we are speaking of an "intersexed" plant. a true hermie has both male and female flowers; an intersexed plant on the other hand, is a female which, usually later in flowering, will throw out one to a few "naners"; which are not seperate male flowers, instead they are single pollen stipules which come out of calyxes (the vag). dig around; some more experienced people than i were talking about it in advanced cult. saying that almost all females will intersex if left flowering too long....self preservation maybe??

edit* also, this would still fit into your darwin survival example: if the plant were to pollinate itself with a little ?female? pollen, then it would still ensure survival; possibly even better survival due to the fact that next growing season there would be many more females around; if there is one male around that year, it could, in theory, pollinate all of those females, resulting in more seeds for the third season than would have been there had the first one not produced only female seed. hope that makes sense to you, but just my thoughts

if you have a male that goes hermie you will have male seeds if you have a female that gets hermied they will be female seeds, some oeople hermie just to get female seeds,I hermed my plant on accident 1 time and all the seeds where female.I could be wrong but I havent found a male plant yet.

As a rule, in general and from MY experiences, I believe the answer is "yes".
I mean, wouldn't the "new" plant (in this case, THE hermie) already have the new genetic information within it's seed?

So the hermie seed WOULD produce a hermie?, So even without stress, the plant from hermie seed would turn hermie. No matter what. Then how can u truly get a femenised seed? without producing more seeds?

Also..didnt mean to hijack your thread...I am truly sorry for that.

here, i found this here:

Feminizing using STS -INSTRUCTIONS- - Grasscity.com Forums

dudes!!
the easiest way i've found of growing you're own stock of feminised seeds is really easy!

1. start with a strain that tends to have hermaphroditic qualities, Trainwreck immediatly comes to mind here!!!
2. fuck with the light cycle something bad! let light in during the dark time (only an hour or 2 at a time) and vice versa (best in the middle of the cycle), really confuse the plant and stress it out.
3. your plant will become hermaphroditic and pollenate itself
4. when a female plant with the chromosone xx pollenates itself the pollen is also xx, therefore any seeds produced will always have the xx or female type!

easy to do, may take a few tries to do it right but then you have a bumper crop of your own, inexpensive feminised seeds!

I've been picking off the "bananas" but when I picked a couple off they self pollinated a couple areas. So I will have feminized seeds :). I'm going to seperate it from the rest this week... and so everything should be good. Thanks for yalls help!!

So my question now is... does water de-activate pollen? Or does it just prevent it from flying through the air??
Should I wet the male flowers first, then snip them off?

This shit is making me so nervous.... I don't want to mess up an entire plant or worse... an entire three plants.

I'm sure immersion in water will render pollen non-viable eventually.

Best thing would be to snip them off before they open!
