The Senate has fuck all to do with the democratic process either.
Well they actually have a say in the passing of bills and laws within our country, so yes they do. Where has it been said that this must be delayed due to invested money exactly? Or that our laws are passed on the basis of listening to those who have the highest dollar amount invested in businesses?

Actually the senate cannot stop a bill. They can use the upper chamber to stall and play political games, but they don't have the power to actually do anything other than make recommendations. Remember Harper passed the mmpr removing patient grow rights to bolster the new LP industry. He stated it publicly and Judge Manson backed him up. That is a blantant example of money dictating law and there are many, many others that go down behind closed doors. Look at Mulroney and Airbus. To say money doesn't influence political decisions is just naive, imo.:peace:

I'm thinking it will get rammed thru....the senate...thus creating a legalization model...that has zero to do with legalization
and more to do with penalization ....this bill has the potential to create a lot of taxes and a lot of fines...
just what is needed to fund these political organizations....
funny how they always seem to look after themselves pretty well....when it comes to creating revenue streams...

Yeah but if the submission by Kirk is any indication,, government's version of "legalization" won't last long. It will be amended and challenged until it mirrors alcohol...or smokes.

Im not saying money doesn't come into politics, it just doesnt happen out in the open as you claim. Unless you have proof its simply assumption. Also aside from the airbus example your other example of the mmpr shows NO sort of monetary collusion. You can claim it, but unless you have a paper trail or facts to prove it(Clinton campaign being a prime example) its all convenient speculation.

Also stalling a bill would still technically count as delaying legalization, so they CAN affect the outcome :bigjoint:
