hi all!! just started my second week of flower and shes waaaaay to bushy. just today i noticed the merest hint of pistils. i tried the tying last time around and it didnt work for me. i want to trim. where should i trim. top down? bottom up? cut little branches? i have 5 main stems(booboo when i cropped 2nd week of grow) and theyre thick and happy. i dont want to touch these. if you can tell from the pics, the bottom half doesnt get any light.(hps on).
i know she looks thick and delicious but i def want top get a better yield and thicker heavier buds. did the pocpcorn thing last time and it sucked!

and please only pro trimmers respond. dont want to hear all the complaining about how not to cut leaves. been doing a bit here and there and havent seem a problem yet. tried the tying now i wanna try the trimming.
thanks all!!

When I trim I usually start on the bottom and with the larger fan leaves located just below the larger branches off of the main stems.:leaf:

I personally only take fan leaves if its a ventilation problem or if its blocking light to another head. I usually remove all branches that do not have the potential to produce true bud (full strength and flavour) I often leave 5 or 6 heads on each plant but remove all the smaller heads and branches leaving just the bigger heads. Some of my critical mass have like 10 - 12 heads and I already took off a few rounds of small branches.

Just remove what will make popcorn and leave everything else. Be careful when removing too much as a percentage of plant. I normally lose a good 10-15 percent of the total plant when I get rid of all the fluffy branches. It does make them produce a lot better on the other heads but you have to keep on top of it as many of these tiny bits of fluff and small branches you remove will simply regrow.

I try to shoot for a plant where all of the heads are at as even hight as possible and make sure the heads that are in that hight range are all nice tasty producing ones :)

I hope this helps its just what I rambled about while thinking about your question.

(only remove what you have to)

Mirrors are actually one of the worst surfaces you can use. White paint is better.

Get some panda plastic or mylar or diamond sheeting or something. It will give you a lot more reflectivity :)

Hehe. When I trimmed the critical mass for putting them on to flower it was horrible I had a big pile of off cuts I could have made a plant out of it. (Infact I made 20 hehe )

I then did a second round about 2 weeks into flowering this couldnt be kept for cuttings cut but it needed to go. I am still debating taking more off because they are bushy as hell. I think its too late into flowering now to disturb them again (about to enter week 5).
