Virgin grow with a haggard setup

I finally have taken the plunge. This is my first grow. Its Arjans Haze #3
Marijuana Strain Library - Arjan's Haze #3

You can see from the pictures my grow is pretty discrete, but the space is damn small. Its in my closet, in a laundry basket. I actually cut the bottom out of the laundry basket so that the pot can slip through and I can adjust how high or low the lights are from it. Its currently sitting on 4 rolls of toilet paper :lol:

The interior is just lined with aluminum foil with a bunch of small holes poked in to allow ventilation. A small fan sitting outside the basket is blowing some air into it.

I also used a power strip with some edison-to-socket adapters for my CFL lights.

This journal should be interesting since I am leaving my apartment on august the 16th and moving into a house with some buddies. The one who already lives there informed me that he is having the house sprayed for spiders after we move in, so I may have to bring my setup to someone's house for a day:? After that it should be easy sailing as long as my basket has enough room.

Here is my "ingredients" list for those that are interested. I tried my best to get the minimum for a quality grow to ensure success. Unfortunately, it cost me about $210 total, but im hoping my room mate (who i havent told this about and wont unless he finds out somehow) will split the cost when all is said and done. Basically, sativa is damn near impossible to find around here (indica is bountiful) so i figure i would just grow my own.

Alright, so i got rid of the laundy basket. it was just too awkward. so i spent $60 more dollars (arghh!!! :evil:) and went with the rubbermaid grow box and some pvc to build with, along with an extra fan. unfortunately i kind of messed up the contraption that holds the lights, so the two rubbermaids dont line up flush. whatever. but its easy now to take the top off and look at the plants and a lot less light gets out... the temp. is pretty high, but its incredibly humid in michigan and the temp at 1:00 am is still like 86.

just ordered 4 more 2700K CFL lights, costing about $30. it better be the last thing i gotta buy... bought one 40 watt and three 30 watts. i figure why skimp on the lighting for flowering, right?

ill probably post some more pics later tonight

really struggling to keep the heat down in my grow box. its around 91 mostly. i wish this summer heat would go down. the temperature is consistently in the 80s in my room. i dont want to turn on the ac since its an addtional $30 a month usually, and my 3 other room mates are gone and not paying electric...
hopefully come flower time, the temperature drops. i should be harvesting in october, where it should be a lot cooler and less humid.

:cry::oops::oops::oops::oops::shock:
so i had my first travesty. i was taking out some of my cfl bulbs when i dropped one and it knocked my dixie cup i had my little guy in. he was only about an inch tall; very tiny guy.

so the soil came out of the cup and bent him a little. i have no idea if he is going to survive, which pisses me off since my other one is doing great and i think it may be too late to germinate and plant another seed since their cycles may be too far out of sync..
:cry: :cry: :cry CRY!

so here are some updates. my first plant is going great, but the 2nd is looking a little weak. hopefully bringing it closer to the light helps.
