Clean setup and healthy looking plants.
Can I ask what type of medium you keep your year old clones in? Feeding schedule? And do you just keep topping them to keep it short and stout like that? I'm wanting to keep a couple clones alive like this while I try out some new genetics.
Great grow so far. Following from here
Thanks.
They’re in recycled ocean forest soil. 1:1 with ewc. No added perlite.
I’ve been feeding them leftover veg nutes from feeding the others.
Feed, water, water, feed. Mostly GH maxibloom powder full strength, with calmag once in a while. Athena blended line some days.
Watering/feeding them every other day, though they dry back daily. They stretch up top a little when I let them go bone dry. Nice time to take clones.. which I usually do. If I don’t have space for it, someone will.
I have cuts of them all rooted, and ready to veg & prep for the greenhouse in a few months.
Even if I don’t need cuts, I dotop them, and have removed tops from previous toppings because they get all bunched up. I go against the grain & let them sit in any run off. The double cups/container both have a root mass in between. In the plants cup that has the knot in it, there’s aplastic cap off a water bottle spacing the 2 cups apart. The other cup hangs perfectly by the rim. More space, so more roots. They’ve been pruned on multiple occasions. I’ve even bottom fed that one with the roots being the way they are. No adverse effects.
They’ve been pretty good to me. Keeping them in cups & taking clones has worked. Soon I may replace these with their younger versions. I want to keep at least one to see how long it can go in the cup. Maybe a bigger coffee container with the lid cut to fit the cup.

The taller lanky plant with the stacked nursery pot on the cup is a newer clone from the coffee container. That’s actually the mother I took the clones I’m running in my 3x5 currently.

Dthats a good idea on the bottle cap spacing. Using it!!
It definitely helps let run off escape if need be. I always check to make sure I didn’t over for it. I don’t water with intention of getting run off, but sometimes I forget to water them & they dry so bad when I water it’ll run off down the sides of the cup. If too much water accumulates quickly it’s easily dumped.

As for the transplanting of the seeds, I was asked by the Queen of the castle to handle a little reconstruction of our bathroom so I am going to work on this now, then return with the update. :peace: :eyesmoke:

This is a great idea to get more roots! Get it:bigjoint:

Day 20:
Finally had the chance to transplant the 4 seedlings into 1gal fabric pots. These are reused. There’s a little grainy almost sand like particles embedded in the fabric that wouldn’t scrub out, so it’s coming for the ride.
Fresh bag of ocean forest. Actually pleased with it not being so “woody”. I did find a few sticks about 2-3” long & I discarded them. I also didn’t add any extra perlite though it’s in the closet. B92F37CC-331B-4884-A37D-4748D66E0284.jpegCC80056B-0C0C-4E45-88D7-359B349C436C.jpeg
I set the cups a little off center to ease the process of LST, and controlling tent space at the same time. 2ft x 2ft isn’t much space, but I’m going to make the best of it. Offsetting the rootball will allow me to bend them over to the other side, rather than over the edge of the pot. 8AB1143C-3025-471E-A24B-4A64C0D8EEC5.jpeg
The root systems are looking pretty nice.

I’ve been thinking about the height restrictions in this tent, and I think the next update might be a topping on all 4 to bring them down early. I will top at a lower node on the taller plants in a pre-game effort to keep a level canopy.
The tops may also possibly be used to sex the plants out once snipped.

I may
Nice and Green :) When to start scrog?
The plants would need to get sexed before I started going into any net.
may as well get started right?
I am going to keep it as simple as possible.. I do however want to find out which if any are female. I have topped them all. Tomorrow I will clean out the humidity dome, and place the cuts with labels in root riot cubes. Going to turn to good old clonex to assist with rooting.
For now I have made the cuts a little home & place in one of my flowering tents.
I did not clip any of the remaining fan leaves like I usually see ppl do when rooting cuts.. resin being.. I want them to keep photosynthesizing to reveal sex under 12/12 lighting.
