and the reason you shouldn't use 5.8pH in soil is because it will uptake aluminum, which is no good for the plants.
 
lol.. I saw u fight with someone else about defol..im not wasting my time.. vertical growers know wats up.. im going by experience.. not by something I read.. especially since no1 has done a REAL side by side.. on this subject... so your so called PROOF is BS..

Those gaps in the canopy are a clear indicator that yield is low specifically because of lack of canopy coverage.

What do you think those leaves are for?

defoliation always decreases yield the only reason I could see to do any removal would be to get rid of popcorn on the bottom of the plant after a week or so of flower. But no big fan leafs from the canopy.
