Its been a while since I've been here!! Have had 2 successful grows so far!! Now I've ran into a serious problem!! Its cold as hell in the Midwest!! Furnace constantly running and humidity inside my basement is below 20 percent!! I cant put a humidifier in my grow room being that one of my autos have about another Week and a half to go and my space is limited!! I made a dry box out of cardboard and string which worked out fine during the warmer months which I kept inside of my tent!! How in the hell will I keep my buds from drying out to quick with such low humidity!! I don't wanna ruin this being that my first two grows came out superb!! HEEEEEELLLLLLPPPP!!!

20 is not bad, 30 would be better. I bet you can just add a couple wet towels clipped so they hang at the side walls. If you are running fans set them on a lower speed. Super dry out there right now, same in the SW. I have digital hydrometers all over the place and sometimes they don't register readings because it's so low!

I have similar conditions at winter time, with a RH around 20-30% (rest of the year it stay between 40-60%)

I notice with my grows that they do best in Veg with a RH above 40% under 30% and I begin to notice small issues (in flowering its totally fine with a RH as low as 30%)
last winter it got as low as 24% and decided to invest them 60$ in a cheap humidifier

similar to this:

before that I did ok with some misting a few times a day with my seedlings and in early veg

wet towels work great if u cant get a humidifier

You want to work on getting the RH of the room itself up, not so much the box. If you try to use the humidifier in or close to box, it might be too damp. The humidifiers can raise the RH in a 10x8 room fast. Keep lots of air circulation going. (but not directly on the drying buds). A higher RH is more healthy for you as well. How's the temp in the basement? I'm in Midwest, with electric heat, so I know about the low RH.

Its about 73 degrees rh below 20!! I normally put my drybox inside my dr60 with intake and exhaust running. As I said though I cant this time and now have to set my drybox outside the tent!! Do I really need fans blowing on the box also!! I also have a humidifier that I can set in the same room as tent and drybox!! Would that help?

IMO- I agree, I wouldn't worry about low Humidity. Now high humidity can be a big problem the plant comes to stop with transpiration.

Good Luck with Your Grow.

Also in the Midwest, same issue!! 16%. I noticed in my last run as the humidity drop my ladies in veg and bloom were drier than should be. I've looked into it a small amount, pretty much as ur humidity is as round 50 plus or minus 10 depending who u are/ strain etc.. Evaporation is obviously occurring as a natural feat, humidity play a roll in density largely in part as ur plant can't take in water as quickly as it evaporates for leaves and what not. During flower the buds begin to dry from the out in, not to noticeable but enough to fuck with density, or rather how compact they are. My questions is if I get a humidifier like a 1 or 2 gallon how much will it raise RH. Anyone have any luck with low RH and stabilizing it, I'm in a closet no bigger than 5 x 3x 8' tall, also any help with the brand anyone has tried successful or not, sorry for butting in on ur thread. Happy growing:)--

So out here in Denver. Finally got to try this blue cheese strain. I must say very nice. Plus stinks to high hell
But will say the Cindy white at green solutions. Reminds me what us Midwesterners in the 90's we called just hydro. Very light airy and very piney taste with hint of skunk. What I'm getting at is reminds me of a 25 year old strain
