I have a clearly female plant with shitloads of nice crystally bud. Yesterday i was looking at the lower branches and i found one clearly not female flower. It actually looked like a flower. Like it had flowers petals. Just one of these flowers. I haven't seen anymore and i've looked very hard. Is this a male flower. I'm also noticing some pistils swelling hardcore and even sort of splitting showing a white interior. I'm really close to harverst, will i be finding seeds in my weed. Lay down the bad news or good news. This plant is flowering all on its own btw. No other mature plants around.

A pic would be good.
If possible just pull that flower off the plant.
Sometimes you get a little bit of hermie action going on.
If it's a male flower and it's opened and released pollen you probabley may get the odd seed near or around where that flower was but thats all.
Keep an eye out for more and pull them off before they open.

sounds like a male flower that already opened, so depending on how much longer till harvest you might get some seeds.i wouldnt worry just be on the lookout for nuts

Nearly all weed will eventually fert itself.
Some are much more prone to it than others.
A lot of seed sellers give times for harvest not just for quality but because they know when the strain will begin to hermie.
Cannabis is bisexual, simple as that, known as dioecious in the plant world,so you need to harvest it before it gets lonely and shags itself:lol:

Wiki copy and paste.
Bisexual - or perfect flowers have both male (androecium) and female (gynoecium) reproductive structures, including stamens, carpels, and an ovary. Flowers that contain both androecium and gynoecium are called androgynous or hermaphroditic. Examples of plants with perfect or bisexual flowers include the lily, rose, and most plants with large showy flowers, though a perfect flower does not have to have petals or sepals. Other terms widely used are hermaphrodite, monoclinous, and synoecious. A complete flower is a perfect flower with petals and sepals.

Calyx's swell up & look like seeds all the time with some strains,a sure way to tell if its a seed is this, take a pair of tweezers & grab hold of the suspect seed, twist the seed & pull it off, then pinch it between your fingers,if its a seed it'll be hard if its developed & if its not fully developed you'll push out what looks like a small white tap root,if its empty then its just a normal swollen calyx.

thats fucked. i would get a pic but my camera is garbage and i am a garbage camera man. Here's a link to what i looked like, http://www.kindseed.com/images/male_flower.jpg . It looked like that except only the sepal without what they call petals in the pic. Its wierd. I would have pulled them of but they fell off by themselves later that day. they were bone dry and didnt look all that developed. i really hope they are fluke flowers. thanks

Its obviously male from your first description when you said they were busting out and white inside.
You will get some seeds from any bud that the pollen went on:leaf:

it sounds like your plants calyx are finishing the flowering process. there is another thread talking about this in the harvesting and curing section. called "my calyx are cracking" started by scoregreen. it explains what is going on as long as your plants have not been pollinated, which it sounds like yours werent.

happy harvesting

well, i don't think they were pollinated. I don't think that flower progressed enough to produce pollen. like i said, it grew and died in what must have been a three day period. it literally came out of no where and dried up and died just as fast. thanks for the harvest wishes. probably this weekend. ill have pics for sure. peace all. im satisfied

That plant is called a hermaphrodite just pull off the male parts as much as you can and keep growing it and smoke it. Just make sure it doesn't see any females and it could have seeds. You could kill it off if you really want. But it is a female with buds too!

Well, it was my only plant in flowering right now. I've been picking buds off as they ripen and unfortunately it looks like it did hermie. I found small male flowers deep in the bud. I've found lots of seeds, but the bud smokes pretty good after just drying. It's curing now, should only get better. Anyways thanks for the input, obviously natmoon knows his shit +rep for sure. BTW is it true that seeds taken from a hermie will produce a higher percent of fem seeds or just alot of hermies or just regular seeds???
