Its pretty clear you want this to work out but from the questions you asked it is also clear you haven't studied much. Also you stated as much.

So Ill offer some advice that you may or may not be already taking.

Hit youtube and watch some grows from seed to finish even if you feel some of it don't relate to your situation
I promise it will answer questions you didn't know you had.

Forums are great for specific questions or troubleshooting an issue.
But you also need to see an entire grow or two.
Good luck

i personally, would top that plant and let it grow another month or so. after you top it once, i might wait till it puts out three more leaf sets and top the fourth one after that. you can skip the second topping, but if you want any kind of a yield, i'd top it at least once and give it a while to bush out.
you're going to need to feed it soon, when you flip to flower, keep giving it some N till it stops stretching, then you can drop the N by about half. i don't like a lot of P myself, i prefer something with a 1-1-2 ratio for flower. i'll give them one good shot of P about two or three weeks before harvest, other than that, not so much. a little calcium and sulfur is good too, cal-mag and epsom salts will cover both, but go light with them, and don't use them together, calcium and sulfur don't like each other, will bond and precipitate out of your nutes, so alternate, one one time, the other the next

they're only dumb if you keep asking the same ones over and over.
i can never keep track of it, but someone around here has a link they keep posting that has a couple of hundred pot books in pdf form, if you see that, grab it and download as many as you can, lots of good info, and even the ones that are full of shit have some nice pictures, usually
