Hi, I've started growing in a cupboard in my apartment. It's something I've always wanted to do, what's more I wanted it done so stealthily thatmy landlord could come in to collect the rent and still not know.
The cupboard is only 17" deep but is just over 5' wide and 7.5' high. Because of the width i used two 600w bulbs and planned to have ten plants growing horizontally. Anyway I fried my clones of northern and only two survived. As it was a project and my wife was a little nervous of the whole project i went ahead with the two plants and one bulb. The flourished during vegging and 19 days ago I switched them over to 12hrs for flowering. I have the hairs indicating that everything's going okay, but shouldn't i be starting to see actual budding by now? Does anybody know how long the rest of the flowering will take until it's time to harvest? I am being told 5 to 8 weeks, is that about right?
Looking at it now I have 4' plants that are so dense that only the top 12" of will have enough light to produce, seems a waste. Should I go vertical or maybe have two complete levels of horizontal but keep the plants down to a maximum of 2'? I'm using the porous pebbles and running the water/food 24/7.
I'm looking for any advice, but one of the most important things I need to know is how close to a air cooled 600w light can my plants grow before getting frazzled. This will probably be the deciding factor between vertical and horizontal. Thanks, in advance, for any advice or assistance. I'm in the UK for anybody interested.
