Pretty sure the 3070s are older models. The 3590s can't even compete with the Seventh Gen Vero29Cs at this point. If Cree doesn't introduce a new generation of emitters, they're probably going to fall behind. 3590s aren't necessarily bad, but they are beginning to find themselves surpassed by the progression of new emitter gens from other rival companies, which are proving to put out more light.
CXB3070 and CXB3590 are both latest cree generation but about 18 mos old at this point and a gen behind other mfrs. cxb3070 is efficient in its range its just a smaller size than cxb3590
