Could these two plants be an adequate form of pest control? I am looking into getting some Dionaea muscipula (Venus Flytrap) seeds and some Sarracenia flava (North American Pitcher plant) seeds and growing them.
Carnivorous plants, not only being just amazing and fun to watch, but seem to show potential as pest control.
The visual lures and nectar bribes of the NA Pitcher plant could be used on whiteflys, assassinator wasps, and other flying pests.
While the Venus Flytrap could be used to capture land based pests such as earwigs, mites (all types), aphids, and ants. Anyone else think this may work? I'll end up getting the seeds and growing them up before my next grow either way.
Thoughts?
