Venting into garage?

Hello all, I’m resurrecting my hydro grow. My only question is has anyone ever vented from their laundry room into the garage? Any problems with moisture? I’m trying to limit how much you can hear the air being pushed out a vent, it was very noticeable coming through the laundry vent last year.

venting the dryer into the garage of course will be moist....

venting the grow into it, no...

Ya i think that should be fine.

Many growers are venting into basements/attics or other rooms etc

i see no reason venting into garage would cause issue

if u live in a cold climate might be problem,blowing warm air into any thing colder will condense

Agreed. Blowing warm humid air from the grow can cause condensation in the cooler temps, frost in the cold. Black mold can also become an issue. Same with venting into attics, major no-no due to condensation on the bottom of the plywood on the roof will cause black mold.

It might condensate if conditions are right; cold garage mainly. It will definitely make your garage smell. It might also make your car smell if you keep it in there.

mufflers are cheap and easy to build and are very affective at reducing noise.

Ya i wondered if there was any issues in those situations, having read so many threads about growers setups and so many exhausting to the attic or basement or garage, i guess i just assumed it was standard practice.

I have seen houses condemned after a renter vented their grow into a cold space. Lots of growers out here in colorado that just don't have a clue how much property damage they are causing or they just don't care.

I vent into my garage out of my grow room most of the time but it's only a 1000W DE light so I notice very little temperature rise in there (winter time) but it does stink. When I have company I vent it outside by turning on my A/C unit (just the fan) and it then causes a slight vacuum in the room and directs stinky air outside. Haha my car smells like weed though but it goes away after a few miles. Venting moist dryer air in there could cause issues though.

Not trying to hijack this thread, you are on a subject I’m having issues with. My room is in an insulated attic in my shed with temps currently at -5 outside. I have to add heat obviously and it’s been a chore keeping humidity up to 30%, just noticed every part of walls and ceiling are sweating condensation. Not sure what to do, it shouldn’t be possible at 30% humidity imo. Maybe I’m not getting accurate reading from my cheap temp/humidity monitor? Any ideas?

I didn’t notice this problem before when temps outside were in the 20’s, saw a pool of water on the floor and sure enough anywhere I reach behind the insulation it’s wet. Had a bad winter storm here today with high winds hopefully not an ongoing issue or I’m screwed. Any insight would be appreciated.

80 degree air at 30% would have a dew point of about 46 degrees so -5 would definitely cause condensation.

u need more insulation on walls an ceiling with heavy plastic between warm room an cold insulation I deal with -5 for months at a time. I have seen sheds,garages rot out an full of mold in 1 winter if not set up proper. if u got sweating I would fix now not later get that wet insulation out of the wall asap

Thats a little calculator. put in your air temp and RH and calculate the dew point or temperature where condensation would start to become an issue.

I pulled 3/4 of insulation down will have to wait to get the rest tomorrow morning, also stopped adding humidity. No mold yet l, will dry everything thoroughly and do it right or make a plastic tent up there might be easier.

do u vent?lowes-Hdepo have insul boards with foil 4x8 ft
