Ventilating a 5 x 5 x 7.5 grow tent

Can I get away with using a ventech 6 inch duct booster rated at 240 cfm to cool a 400 watt metal halide and ventilate the room as well along with a lasko personal 6inch to keep air moving around inside the tent.

And Can I use the DIY carbon filter method described in this thread with just those two fans?

(seriously those carbon scrubbers cost more than the fans and ducting combined…?)

Or do i need a second ventech 6 inch duct booster fan drawing in fresh air?
I've also heard that the ventech 6inch duct booster fan is somehow not powerful enough to use with a carbon scrubber but the cfm rating on it is just as good as most of the far more expensive inline fans that come in combo packs with

I use that same inline booster fan and cool a 600w fixture with ease. Keep in mind that it's not a quiet fan and found using insulated ducting helped the noise greatly. I'm building another flower room and using the same fan for the same set-up and am adding a fan controller to help with the noise (I hope).

I've actually found that fan to be kind of quiet, i really only hear it in the room its in and even then its just white noise.
So the fan can both cool a light and scrub the air clean and bring in ventilation, cool thanks.

Still wondering about that scrubber, I found some bags of activated carbon

can i just stuff this stuff in the duct? Its a lot less expensive then an air scrubber.

I use two of the same fans for intake and exhaust in a 5x5 with a 600 watt HPS and Lush lightnings dominator 2x

So lets say I use the 240 cfm fan to cool the 400 watt light AND attach a carbon scrubber to it.
In addition I get a 4 inch 240 cfm as intake.
And I have a small 191 cfm fan moving air around within the ten.

just to be clear the fan is cooling the light AND exhausting a 5 x 5 x 7.5 room.

Is this going to work or do i need a separate fan to cool and exhaust?
Thanks.

EDIT: How heavy are 6 inch carbon filters? If I were to attach one directly to one end of a the cool tube light, would it significantly unbalance it or put a lot of strain on the frame holding up the light?

Double edit… looks like roughly 15 pounds which seems like it would unbalance the light if it were attached directly to it

Yeah man those filters are HEAVY. I'm using a phresh 6" x24" and honestly I was scared to hang i . I thought my tent would fall. But there is literally no smell..... Then again I'm not flowering lol

I believe it… the color is painful for me to look at though.
Did you set up your exhaust and light cooling (assuming you're using MH) through that carbon filter with one fan?
Passive or active intake?

Yeah everything is hooked up to one fan. Filter>fan>1000w light>out the tent

And I have 2 passive intakes setup

the answer is no! you need an inline fan, NOT a duct booster that thing wont cool shit

How many cfm on the fan?
Does the tent bow inward?
I think it's 435 cfm fan. It's the hurricane 6". And of course there is negative pressure. I'm considering adding another 6" fan to cool my hood and my other to filter the tent. You can never have enough air flow...
