I was wondering if I can use both 18 and 24 hrs during a veg cycle... i am trying to do 18/6 and for the most part its fine, but sometimes its hard to get the lights back on or off in time... so sometimes its more like 20/4... is this okay, will my plant go hermi? have a fem seeds... on a tight budget

Turn 'em on and leave 'em on. Until you can afford that timer.

C'mon man, a cheap timer is only around 5 bucks.
yea its like 10 bucks... but things add up.. 10 bucks for a 3 gal tub... 20 for soil... bulbs are like 10 bucks a piece... ect ect... also i may need to get nutrients in a few weeks or even some more lights... and so i want to spend as little as possible so i have some extra money when i really need it. also i am only growing one plant

in nature the hours of light dwindle down or go up from season to season

Hey yea it is my first grow, but yea fox farm happy frog was like $17, 3 gal smart pot was 7 bucks, then a 42 watt cfl (200 watt eqv) wast 10 bucks (then i have a few other cfl just laying around the house that i am going to use)... been getting my stuff from amazon, i'll look into getting some mg bloom, if i could find some nutrients for blooming for under 5 bucks... i would be a happy man... my soil should last me for a good month and a half, with a transplant, but after that i'll been something to help get some fatty nugs

you should go to home depot/lowes and spend like 20 dollars, pack of 23-26 watt cfl's and some splitters.. splitters are nice because they do a good job of making the light pretty even

You should do like srh88 said and buy a box of cfls from a hardware store....alot cheaper......and yeah your soil should hold you over until flowering......but then I would get some bloom nutes to fatten up the buds.....the MG is cheap as fuck right now because everybody is having a "end of the season" type sale.....

just go for a 20-20-20 nute for veg and then something with a 1-3-2 ratio for flower
