Veg for 8 weeks now--Flowering time? will I still be able to create clones?

I have a plant of a strain that my friend created of hybrid Sativa>Indica, and I'm wondering if, at this point when it's bushy it's time to let it flower, or should I let it veg for another few weeks to get even larger (it's about 1 1/2 feet tall right now, with large lush leaves--looks like a rainforest fern almost)?

...but that leaves me wondering: will I still be able to create clones?

Thank you for any help I get.

you can create clones anytime before flower, the size dosen't matter think about mother plants. some strains you might be able to take clones until buds start to form.

what kind of light are you flowering under? I say flip it to 12/12 I flip mine at 12 inches so to keep em short to more efficiently use the light. It's gona stretch maybe double or triple in size if your lucky less than double but its gone grow. I say flip it.

Once the plant is ready to flower, its pretty much personal preference how big you let it veg to. I think a good rule of thumb is that flowering will make it 2-3 times bigger or so. It sounds like your guy is in good shape to take some cuttings from to clone from. I pull from some of the lower areas that would be less likely to get light in flower anyway.

This is a hybrid strain I had one time... Didnt know what strain it was really but had alot of growers tell me it was a hybrid of some sort that they have never seen before because of the leaves growing out of each side of the plant at every other node...

I made 8 clones off my one plant that was far into flower. As a matter of fact each clone had different size buds on them ad they're all doing good. Especially after I neglected them for almost a week. One gave me some super skunky dank smoke. Had to cut that one cuz the neglect hurt it too much.

I haven't begun flowering yet, but I'm using four 4' T8 GE 32W Ecolux daylight bulbs (for a total of roughly 11,000 lumens for just two plants), and they're working pretty well so far.

Here is a picture of what will be my mother plant--for size comparison, that plastic pot is about 3 gallons.
