I hear alot of stuff floating around on vaporizer's. I've never used one, and see they are quite expensive too. I'd love to hear from people who own one. I would appreciate hearing about brand names, and pro's and cons.
Peace

THC Transfer Rate
The MAPS-NORML study provides new information on the efficiency of different devices in delivering THC from marijuana to the user. Previous studies have shown that 60% - 80% of the THC burned in joints or waterpipes is lost in slipstream smoke, adhesion to the pipestem and bowl, pyrolysis, etc. [Mario Perez-Reyes, Marijuana Smoking: Factors that Influence the Bioavailability of Tetrahydrocannabinol, in C. Nora Chiang and Richard Hawks, ed., Research Findings on Smoking of Abused Substances, NIDA Research Monograph 99, 1990]. The percentage of total THC delivered to the user is called the THC transfer rate. The unfiltered joint scored surprisingly well in smoking efficiency, coming in second place with a transfer rate close to 20%. The portable waterpipe did slightly better, and the bong slightly worse. The other devices did notably worse. The vaporizers and electric waterpipe did especially poorly, with transfer rates less than one-third that of the top three devices. Thus, heavy smokers could literally be blowing most of their stash away with bad pipes.

My cousin and friend both own a volcano vaporizer...mad expensive..like 500-600 dollars or some shit. I mean it efficient and doesnt waste any doja at all. Plus u can reuse the vaporized buds for making hash or edibles..atleast thats what they do. I personally didnt care too much for vaporizing other than its a very very clean way of gettin high haha. the power of the blunt and papers...gotta love them.

Does anybody know of any good vaporizers between $100-$200? I would really like to get one, but don't have enough for a volcano.

I had a cheap one. What a waste of money. Better off sticking with my bong.
Agreed, if you do decide to invest in a vapo, in my opinion there is absolutely no reason to invest 5-600 dollars in one. I had a $90 one and ended up selling it within weeks and it has been sold many times since withing my group of friends. Yea I guess it's kind of cool that is doesn't actually burn the weed to ash and is probably easier on the lungs but I felt like it got me less high. I was kind of disillusioned by the hype. With mine, you basically put the weed on a little tray, lock a little jar thing over top. The tray thing heats up and doesn't do much more than singe the outside layer of the weed. The pic I attatched is the one I had. It would obviously be easier on the lungs but if you're anything like me, smoking is half the fun of getting high. This is just my opinion of course...

Hmm, maybe the volcanoe is magic but it doesn't make much sense that they made hash out of the weed they've already got high off.
