Vanilla Kush indoor grow journal

Allright guys - now it's it. Im finally doing my expected grow trying to use the best possible methods in a very tight area to make the best possible harvest concerning potency and yield. This will be my first grow so I am gonna need some help on this. :weed:

My setup (Currently in the making):

Grow closet - 50x60x201cm. Effective height (the top of the pot - up to the LED grow light) 110cm. It will be isolated inside the grow room using styrofoam sheets covered in mylar. I have hooked up two high perfomance desktop fans to the bottom of the cabinet to draw air, and one on the shelf exhausting air into a carbon filter. Everything is controlled by a fan-controller keeping the temperature at 23 degrees.

My growing medium will be aeroponic, using the Aerofarm, just exactly small enough to fit the closet. I have a range of different CellMax nutrients. I might happen to ask quite a lot of question on dosing these different notes for maximum effectiveness. The water will be filtered by a reverse osmosis filter, and monitored with a ph-meter, EC and ppm reader.

My light will initially be a 5w LED germination room. Later when the plants have reached a certain height and resilience they will be planted into the Aerofarm and will be juiced up by a 300W led growing light. This is considered necessary in order to keep down the temperature effective.

My bud for this grow will be Vanilla Kush for a nice indica-lockdown. They should be ready within 10-11 weeks and reach a height of 100-150cm. Ive read of 80-100cm and the strain sounded nice to my needs, so im trying to keep the down.

Other thoughts: I will also be monitoring humidity, I have a osmosis filter to clear out the water and I am planning to change the water in the Aerofarm once every week or every other week.

Progression..

Day
1: Germinated the seeds using the paper towel method. Just waiting for them to crack open.

Day 2: Not much happened. Got quite anxious and tried to drop the seeds down in water. Ive tried that method growing outdoors with success so i was hoping for the best.

Day 3: Finally! Shit is happening. I see a tiny tap on three of the roots and a even tinier ones on the last two. I have now transferred my seeds into the paper towel method once again, hoping the roots is visible enough, to allow me to plant these badboys into soaked rockwool cubes, in my tiny 5W germination dome.

Final thoughts
So this was pretty much it. I will be posting actively through this grow since it's also my first indoor grow, considering aeroponic should be quite difficult to master, I will take any tips, tricks and thoughts with open hands.

Finally I have attached quite a few pictures. This is day 3 of the grow, and the grow room looks like on the pictures. It must be completely done, in a week or so - when the plants are ready to the Aerofarm. It illustrates notes, 5W grow box, undone-grow room and ventilation setup.

The pictures of the seeds illustrates day 1 - after 24h of paper towelling'. And day 3: the worst and the best looking. Can it really be true that they haven't got any further than this. These are expensive quality seeds and not much is happening, as I see pictures of 1-2 days germinated seeds with roots over 1 cm. Thoughts?

Sounds interesting. That little rockwool tray and light is cool. I always enjoy seeing what people can do in small places. What aero farm are you talking about, the little AeroGarden thing from miracle grow?

Hello Gaberlunzie and thanks for the comment. I will be pleased to show you all the closet when it's done, I'm really excited by it. It is the Aerofarm 3 as you can hardly see, on one of the pictures.

Allright. I know that it has been a while. Now three days later the situation is like this. I have had 4 quite good seedlings out of five. I putted them into the rockwool cubes (all 5) soaked in normal water (im still waiting for another osmosis filter) under my 5W led lamp. The seeds have now been there for two days and this is now day 5.5 after i dropped the roots down into water. A little bit slow I suppose? Anyhow 4/5 has come up so far and it looks good. Im keeping temperature between 21-23* inside the dome, however the humidity is 96-98%. What is best? I have tried to lift up the top in order to let out more moist, but it dont help. Is this harmful?
I have some rootbooster, when will I need this?

Pictures: Worst seed, best sprouts, goin' down the cube, comin' up the cube

Day 4: morning (all seed has popped unless one) - evening (all seeds popped, 3 with nice sprouts) planted them in rockwool
Day 5: Nothing really happened until in the evening where I could see a single one.
Day 6: Looks like on pictures.

Note: Closet is still being build. It will be done in 1 or 2 days, next update will be then
