Vanila kush & LSD, second grow

Hi guys

This will be my second grow, the start of the first one you can see here:

The grow space was a little bit improved, but it's still pretty Ghetto...
no where near the quality of what people do up in here.

The first time i tried, those were seeds for a regular low grade bag of weed.
I began with two, one was male and one female.
The female came to be quite a serious plant, gave great yield and the smoke was OK.

This time i want something really good, so i ordered 4 seeds from attitude
2 - LSD
1 - Vanila kush (mistake, i wanted to get two but forget to update the shopping cart)
1 - free seed - Bubba kush

--- all feminized

I have a trauma with males, i tried on three different occasions, 2 plants each time, overall 6. All males.

I hope the feminized thing isn't some kind of a rip off.
Is it true? how do they get the seed to be females? how do they that they are females?

my equipment:
- 250W sunmaster HPS.
- CFL (pretty big, i dont remember the exact number)
- nuts - Biobizz stuff - grow,bloom,heaven.

I thought i'd start with the CFL and then move to HPS, is it wise?

I'm starting with 1 VK and 1 LSD (i don't have space for more)
Seeds germinated 6 days ago and planted.

Sure, if you wanna vegg with a CFL it's fine.

Third week of veg...

Happy to see that things are going OK so far.
Both babies continued developing...
The LSD seems a little smaller than the Vanila kush, the VK is only one day older.

Transplanted from the smaller pots 4 days ago, i think they have accepted their new home
I've ditched the CFL, it gave really poor light, the plants didn't seem to respond to it very good
since i fired up the HPS a week ago the plants really grew.
I guess I'll have to veg a little bit longer to compensate for that lose.

They are already starting to smell...i didn't remember that from the first time.

I'm going to top the plants in a week or so, what are the differences between topping when they are young vs older?

Next update will be when i decide to top them.

1 Month (-2 days) from planting germinated seeds

Yesterday i looked at the vanila kush and spotted a couple of white hairs between the nodes! YESSS, very excited to see that after a couple of disappointments with males.
The LSD is not showing anything yet.
I decided to top the Vanila kush yesterday, it's been 1 day since and than growth seems to have stopped for now, i hope she recovers soon

I also had a serious breach in security. I hope nothing goes wrong or I'm screwed!

Really you can top all through veg, just topping them sooner allows them to grow more into the different cola's so by the time you come to flowering you have nice sized branches. And here's a link on feminized seeds: http://cannabisculture.com/articles/1332.html

Now i wish i topped her sooner, i was planing to go to 12-12 next week when she gets to a height of 25-30 cm

My apartment stinks as hell!
It's definitely much more noticeable then the first grow.
Probably because it's two plants now instead of one, not to mention that the first one was bag seed grow.

There is no option for a vent to the outside, i only have fan blowing inside my room.
I'm going to the super market to try and find an odor control solution.

The Vanila kush got really big!
The LSD is trying to catch up, but it's still kind of short in comparison to the VK + no white hairs on it so far

Now those are truly some Barney's traits you see here (I've grown 6-7 of their strains now)... great branching and that distinct leaf structure we all know and love!! Get ready for those girls to really start looking nice once they enter flower. As they start to stretch, I'd try to tie back (slightly) a few of those branches to bush the plant out more - you'll get some extra nice tops that way... especially on the VK. But either way - you're going to have some nice buds from those two - I've seen it many times when looking like that at this stage... looking really good!

I was thinking of tying up the VK, but i'm afraid that she'll get too much wider for the room that she has in that closet.

The VK is a beautiful plant, she's growing so fast! the LSD on the other hand is much much smaller, i'm slightly worried that it didnt show any signs of sex, allthough they have been in 12\12 for only two days now. The VK showed her sex about 10 days ago.

It'll be nice to see both grows coming along together.

The VK is growing super fast, she's gotten pretty tall and starting pre flower.
But the LSD is not showing any signs of sex!
What the hell? it's been 10 days in 12\12, VK showed her sex a week before turning 12\12.

Does any one know if this behavior is normal to this strain?

Not familiar with the LSD. I had my plants (Black Domina x Golden Skunk) flowering for 10 days before I could see sex. This was after vegging for 3 weeks too..

Also I'm a newbie though so it takes me a while to find those little white hairs

how did ur lsd turn out the fist time thinking about ordering some herd its nice and potent? and how was the vanila kush ??

I wish i could tell you how it's like, I'm still growing them.
I'd say they are about two months away, not including dry and cure.

This morning i went in to feed them, i looked at the LSD real closely...and i think i spot some little little sprouting of white hairs.
It's really hard to tell, not like the VK which was easy to spot.

It's so interesting to see how two different strains react.
LSD was slow with everything, the seed germinated longer, the seed pop up couple of days later, the stretch is taking longer and now flowering starts late.
The VK germinated in a day and half, seed started in a day, and flowering started a week before 12\12 and she's much bigger.

I'll update in a day or two with pictures

Right on Astro - you'll likely start to see more and more hairs every day now on that LSD.. can't wait to see the pix!

Sorry for the crappy shots, i just cant seem to get the hang of taking pictures with that yellow HPS light.

And my camera is in bad shape, i dropped it in the water on our honey moon to the Philippines couple of months ago.

Some of the buttons don't work...i cant disable that damn date stamp

Your set up is almost the same as me. 250W, Biobizz...

How does that heaven stuff work out for you? I have never tried it.
