using Scrog method from seed.. NEED answers!!

ok so i want to start my scrog but i am not having any clones yet. what i was planning on doing was veg my plants till they are about ready to go under the screen, then switch 12/12 for a couple days to show sex. would that work with the couple days of 12/12 have them show signs of sex then put the fems under the screen? thanks in advance!

or i was also thinking with the space i have was i could grow a few plants normal and use them for clones. so every harvest id have maybe 2 mother plants and the clones scrog. then when i harvest my mothers i plant new babies and when my scrog is harvested, i use my new mothers for clones to scrog. but im guessing the lighting would get a big mess when i plant my mothers so id prbably have to create a small room for them im assuming? or can i just do as above and switch 12/12 when i want to clone then switch back to 18/6 and grow together...? ive read ppl cloning their plants then using the clones to show signs sex... thats a possibility also.

please tell me what you would do if you were growing soil and wanting to scrog. i am not puting any males in my screen NO SIR so dont say wing it. i dont wanna have to untangle the males from fems i know for a fact i would fuck it up.

I'm fairly new to this, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but I have gone to SCROG from seed, and would definately recommend sexing before putting the plants under the screeen. You're going to want to take cluttings from the ladies, right? It is a pain to sex and take cuttings once the screen is in place. You should be able to sex them before they stretch too much.

ok sweet thats what i was planning on doing.. tell me though how you do it. i wanna feel for how someone does it themselves. and ur saying that its hard to trim the plant when the screen is in place?

oh jeez im srry i think i misread your post.. youre saying its difficult to cut clones once the screen is in place am i correct? if so that shouldnt be too bad since if i plant from seed to scrog i wont be making any clones until my harvest is ready. so that should make things a little easier im hoping.

omg idk why im so stupid today. this bud has got me high and im still sleepy from waking up it appears. lol what i meant to say is i wont be cloning until im almost ready to flower. jeez man i need to read what i say before posting it! lol

Yeah, I would first sex, then move to the screen. SCROGs from seed tend to get a little lanky, especially if you are working with a mostly sativa variety. Just don't expect the same yeilds you would get from clones.
