Using Propane-Butane to make Oil

I have never actually made honey oil before but have been reading in the Marijuana grow bible, watching a whole lot of stuff on Youtube and reading all over the net. So, I am starting to get a bit of an idea of the theory. Hopefully, people understand that the method that I am talking about here is that of Supercritical Fluid Extraction, involving the pipe and filter. I have two questions.

1. I find it hard to get a hold of pure Butane here in New Zealand. I think that it is because everyone else has gone to shops and brought it all for the same purpose. However, I get the Propane-Butane mix very easily (20% Propane). Is it acceptable to use this in the extraction of oil?

2. I can get access on occasion to free liquid nitrogen. Does anyone have any tips on using this in the process?

You want to try and get the purest butane you can. just go to the store and get lighter butane... If you can you can get up to 5 times distilled. (more pure the butane the more pure the oil)

but I don't know what propane converts to with oxidation and you wouldn't want to smoke oil with propane.

I am not sure but I believe propane and butane are very similar molecularly. Both are simple hydrocarbons. I will hit up goggle and try to see though. My geuss is that it could be carcenogisctic, but then again so is almost everything else around us it seems like.

Hmmm interesting. I didn't think about carcenogenic properties.

I just had a thought though. They add propane to cigarettes. Although, I wouldn't say cigarette companies have your health in mind, it might mean that it is alright for smoking.

I just had a look on the net and it is actually pretty clear that propane is not a cancer causing agent. Interesting, in that almost everything is considered carcinogenic these days.
