Using CFL for lowryder #2 X AK47

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if it would be possible to use a 125w Compact Fluorescent light for the first few weeks of growth instead of the 400W HPS light. or should i just use the HPS set up for the entire life cycle of the plant?

Also I'm debating getting a grow tent for this project. Does anyone use a grow tent or should i just string up the lights and let the pot sit out in the open of the room?

Thanks,

PEACE

Yes sir! That is absolutely possible. The seeding will enjoy the reduced intensity of the CFL in the first real stage of its life. If you have money for the grow tent, go for it. However, you might want to invest a little bit in ventilation if you will be using a HPS in a grow tent as I may get very hot in there.

Thank you for the advice Swish. I don't think i will end up buying a grow tent because i really wont have the funds for it and i kinda want to get started as seeds are on their way. Do you think that growing in an open room with a light strung up over a potted plant would work? i know i'll have to worry about temp and humidity within the room but i am sure i can keep them both fairly stable enough to grow a plant.

Many poeple prefer using CFL's for the veg part of auto's. In fact, I use CFL's strictly for my current autoflower grow. Only 85w too!

Most defiantly! Put it in a corner and buy a windshield sun protector and place it on the wall and put your plant close to it for reflectivity. ;)

Nice, so i can potentially use something like this for the entire life cycle of the plant? I'm pretty pumped for these seeds to be coming now, i thought i was going to have to have a way more elaborate set up for this to work. Thanks for the help KuLong.
