Hey XXXXX,
I'm not that much of an expert on the growing mediums, mainly just
focus on the Blumat side. I do make my own mixes though and know that
the more perlite & coco you use, the better the drainage - the faster
the water goes through and therefore the importance of watering more
often. If your mix ratio favors the worm/soil percentage, you don't
have to water as often but tend to have a more uneven moisture level.
With Blumats, I don't think you need to worry about that nearly as
much since they automatically give your plants water when they need
it, stop when they don't.

No problem hooking up different sizes of pots in the same system - you
can adjust differing water amounts both by the number of Blumat
sensors you use and also - each one is adjustable.

I'll work on putting together some quotes for you, send via email and
the first one also as a PayPal request. I think I'll go ahead with
your first thought of using 3 per big pot. If it turns out later that
you don't need that many, you could use the extras on your next
system. (It depends a lot on how warm it is, how much light, and how
fast your plants are growing.) Two might be fine when the plants are
small, 3 better when they get big.

No problem with helping you like this, I enjoy it. And hope I can
become one of your "garden heroes!"

cheers,
Steve

Here is more correspondence from our new friend that is giving me 10% off and free shipping. (holla!)
And we can just assume that the 10% off and free shipping will apply to all of us now. That's pretty cool
when you can tell a salesman, hey I don't have time for this shit, will you figure out what I need, and he
spends a few days working on it and gives me a discount. Steve, thanks buddy.

finally picked up a second hand inversion table which i haven't used much yet. > also a secret back-pain healing devise i've benefited from immensely is.... this slender hourglass wooden lathed back roller called, Ma Roller. I can go into detail later, but this thing can get ppl re-aligned some and reduce lots of pressure point pain. all thru passively laying on it and letting gravity do most of the work. highly recommend for anyone w back issues. yah, you do need to be cautious w roller if you have disk impingement or damage.

Subject: Blumat Add-on Quotes

XXXXX,
Here are the two extra quotes you asked for.
Since it's in a small room, I don't think you'll need tubing for the first one.
I wasn't sure if the second quote was for the same room or a different
location. If different, you'll need the beginning parts again
(Thru-the-Hull adapter and valve.)
cheers,
Steve

This is the 12 Pot add-on

Tropf Blumat Outdoor Sensor 24 $7.00 $168.00
Tropf Blumat Maxi (Outdoor Sensor with Extension) 12 $8.25 $99.00
Blumat Elbows (Three) 1 $4.95 $4.95
Blumat Supply Hose Tee and End Piece (Two Sets) 1 $4.50 $4.50
specials: free shipping + 10% discount 1 -$27.65 -$27.65
Add on to main system. Should still be enough 8 mm tubing since in small area.

12 pot add-on 1 gallon

Tropf Blumat Outdoor Sensor 12 $7.00 $84.00

Blumat Supply Hose Tee and End Piece (Two Sets) 1 $4.50 $4.50

Iʼm not sure if this was also to be added on to main system. If not, need
another Blumat Thru-Hull Tank Connector and probably more 8 mm tubing.

That's interesting, Abe. Gets fluids moving and stretches things a bit. Sounds very cool.

If I injure myself I ice it. To slow swelling. Next day and however many days thereafter, it's heating pad and stretch. So much easier to stretch warm muscle / ligament.

Glad: That all sounds like great stuff and service. I like buying from them also. I like to stay aware of the air bubbles in these carrots, as well as the water lines. Bubbles are not our friend. You'll want to consider having a shutoff valve at the high point of all your tubing. I have drippers on the top of the soil, with one tan colored feeder line running up to the larger supply tube. This black tube becomes a manifold for your numerous smaller feeder lines, one feeder per plant. So any bubbles tend to run up the 3mm (tan) water lines to the elevated larger, more rigid (black) manifold. This black manifold hose I have oriented so that one end is lower than the other. This causes air in this line to float to the high end of that manifold. This is where I have my valve to purge air as needed.

So again, the air bubble (if any) would rise up the individual tan feeder lines to the main black manifold. This manifold is tilted so bubbles continue to flow upward toward valve.

I was hoping for a neurologist that needed some help around the house. A friend to talk to sometimes.
