Using another alcohol?

Im planning on making oil using the cold method.

I can't access 96% alcohol . Would it work with 38% alcohol?

No.

You can get 99% ISO almost anywhere, not as good (IMO) as Ethanol, but more readily available & cheaper.

Remember alcohol is volatile, flammable and explosive.

Poorly, and then you are stuck getting rid of the water.

The cold method demonstrated produces a greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen tasting oil that is upsetting to some folks gastro intestinal system.

He appears to be in Sweden so there may be restrictions on purchase of ISO or EtOH. Could he use vodka? I see this: Good ol’ Sailor Vodka is bottled at 85% ABV, and 170 Proof.

99.9 Methyl Hydrate (methanol) is available at most painting supply $15 for a 4L jug. Fine for making smoke. Use Ethanol if you are planning on eating it. Lungs VS liver metabolizing. Grow some corn and build a still.

Thank for your replys. Yes as barnbusters says would this Good ol’ SailorVodkais bottled at 85% ABV, and 170 Proof work ?
