Using a compost bin for a swamp tub grow?

If you used something like this

As a pot, would it work? The soil would be getting a lot of ventilation but the roots might grow out through sides and die.

It looks like you could get two beauties out of there. Just shovel some swamp up against the sides if you're worried about the roots. Then it will be a mound grow.

no....the roots would air-prune. just line it with weed block fabric

It would work, anything that could hold a large capacity of soil would work. I have used 55 gallon plastic barrels as pots, cutting the barrel in two, giving me 2 pots, perfect for swamp growing.

I ran across a bunch of videos on youtube about earth tubs? I think thats what they're called. Might work even better for ya as the watering would be more even.
