Uses of Super Plant Tonic

Has anyone here used Fox Farms's liquid nutes? The Grow Big, Tiger Bloom, and Big Bloom specifically.
Right now I have BMO's products. I was considering changing to the Ocean Forest soil, with FF liquid nutes. I believe FF is a bit cheaper when you do the math.
Or do you guys think BMO outperforms FF?

Jnuggs..... I have used Foxfarm in the past, and liked the way they performed. I have recently been using the BMO ferts, cause for me - they are easier to get and just a bit cheaper.
.
Foxfarm is a good quality Organic Based product, not completely organic. It has some chemically processed mineral salts added to round out it's mix. It tends to be slightly acidic, but if you monitor your soil pH through out your grow - no problem.
.
I'd say Foxfarm and BMO ferts are neck and neck in performance. I've never had a problem with the fact, Foxfarm is not 100 percent organic. I'd say it's 95 percent organic, so - close enough in my book.
.
I would not let price be my only consideration when buying nutes - unless there is a big difference in cost. I also would not let the fact that Foxfarm is organic based, sway me either.
.
Buy what makes you happy, feed Mary low, slow & steady and it's all good. :)

If I chose to go with FF Ocean Forest soil (my mix right now that I mixed myself has a ph of 7.6!) do you think I should use the FF nutrient trio pack? Or would the 4 BMO products be better in that soil? I'm not so much worried about super cheap products as the price difference isn't major. I just want a good quality, organic fertilizer. Thanks for your help so far Ohso!

Would BMO's SPT, Grow it Green, Flower Power, and Foliar Harmony be a complete nutrient kit for the grow if I used FF Ocean Forest soil? Thanks again for your help!

.
Jnuggs.... Yes, that would be a complete nutrient kit. With FF OF Soil, I would not feed any ferts for the first month. Only 1/4 strength SPT since your soil is nutrient rich and could easily burn your plants.
.
I'd consider cutting the FF OF Soil, with a bag of Light Warrior or Pro Mix Spaghum Peat Moss. I'd go 50 percent OF / 50 percent (LW or PM).
.
Then you could begin feeding at the end of week 4 of veg growth. I'd go 1/4 strength grow it green, then bump up the strength in 1/4 strength increments. Low, Slow & Steady.....
.
At week 8 of veg growth, I'd drop the grow it green to 1/2 strength and add 1/2 strength flower power. Then progressively drop the grow it green, and up the flower power. Overlapping them, will ensure you don't start to loose fan leaves prematurely.
.
I'd only folair feed, the foliar harmony during veg growth, and for one week after preflowers appear. I don't like folair feeding during flowering, since trichromes act like velcro - once they are big enough to be visible.
.
Hope this helps...

Ohso, I appreciate you taking a little time out of your day to help me out with my questions. You are a very helpful member to this site, and I appreciate that you just give straight answers and don't blow up on us first time growers for asking too many questions. ++rep

Hey. I been useing BMO products sense Oct. I been having that problem Dropping Big fans 4 weeks into flowering. and works its way into the next biggest set of leaves...so on>>> ..

Mr OGreen. Your above post is close to a BMO SCH> if you could please write a BMO For dummies!!!! a formula for the flowering cycle. and what does it mean when the tips turn brown and curl upwards??

Ok, I mixed some spt and used it on my girls. and then I noticed shit was floating in the bottle. I emailed the dude he told me how to fix it. But My ?? is would SPT hurt my girls if it was not active??? Cause all the yellowing started right after that??

Now I'm getting the claw and yellowing bad..... Nothing is fixing it.
Ph is right, aged water. good soil , not overwatering!!!

I'll get new pics tomorrow, its lights out now.

Thanks Iin Advance

I second that. My BMO products didn't come with a feeding cycle chart. What would you recommend?

Sorry everyone, I have not been on for a while. The Holidays are always a busy time around the Ohsogreen plantation.
.
For using the BMO nutes, remember that during the flowering phase of growth, some N is still necessary. It's best to use the grow & bloom formulas at half strength for the first two weeks of flowering, then 1/4 strength grow and full strength flower for weeks 3 & 4 of flowering. After that tapper off to no grow formula for weeks 5 & 6 with 1/2 strength flower power . Then the last two weeks of flowering, just plain water.
.
Hope this helps...

So do you continue the spt thru out the whole grow at the same strength up until the last two weeks of flower, and is it every feed or every other feed?

Titan4jah.... I use the SPT mixed at regular strength the first application (on a watering only week), then I wait at least 3 days before adding anything else. After that, regular strength (every other week) until week 6 of flowering. After that, I don't use it, because a good poplulation of micro-beasties is already established in the root zone. So, why waste them.
.
I prefer to feed one week (two quarts of mixed up fertilizer - per plant) and do the water/spt thing the next, in rotation. Now some people, prefer to feed weakly / weekly (one quart of mixed up fertilizer - per plant) & (1/2 strength water/spt weekly) and that's OK. I just like the other.

Hmm... I purchased some SPT about 4 months back and unfortunately the pressure in the bottle was so great that it exploded and leaked the day I received it. I immediately threw the contents in a plastic zip-lock bag and have not opened nor touched it since. I am curious if the SPT is still good or if the little guys have died of starvation... should I be safe and order a fresh one or can I be frugal and reinvigorate what I have?

Teaaet... Don't chunk it. Pour it in a empty mason jar or coke bottle. Add a few ounces of unchlorinated water and a food source. 1/4 teaspoon of unsulphured molasses, or sugar. Put it in a cool place, with no bright light and see if it's still kicking. After a couple of days, you should see super small bubbles or you can tighen the lid and see if it produces pressure. I bet it's still kicking, this stuff is very hard to kill.

i am going to my grow with all of bmo nutes, i am going to use ocean forest soil, so should i wait until about week 4 to apply the spt? or can i start using it right away?? should i add it seperate from the grow formula??

GjDubbz.... Since your soil already has beneficial micro-beasties in it. I'd wait until week 4, then just use the SPT at half strength to maintain the tribe throughout the grow.
.
You can mix SPT with organic grow nutes with good results. I personally, alternate - feed one week - water only (with SPT) the next, in constant rotation. The helps prevent overkill - aka - nute burn....
