Urgent Help Needed!

My plant is starting to look like it has a problem. I'm growing outside about 15 ft. from a creek and the lower leaves are starting to get eaten. I looked for a silvery residue, just to see if it was slugs but didn't find any. With close inspection i noticed there are tiny yellow specks. I'm sure this could grow to be a problem so I really need to catch this early and find a solution. It could be two problems. I put vinegar in a 3 ft. radius around the plant to fend off deer and whatnot just today. I heard banana peels were known for keeping insects away but i just don't know what to do and we're out of bananas. i need a quick solution pretty bad. The top leaves don't seem to have the problem though, so if it's moving up the plant...it could be insects. I sprayed the top with some pond water and sort of slipped each leaf through two fingers in case it was insects and the spots were eggs. I don't want to just rub it off because this problem could ruin any crop i might produce... I realize now i could have spread the problem... Please help if you know anything!! :-|

Try one of the organic soap sprays. They usually kill mites, leaf mildew and other problems. I use a product by a company call Safer. Dosen't mean it is safe but they are certified organic.

I do drink some coffee from time to time, and occasionally soda, though I wouldn't say I drink "a lot". Not on a daily basis, maybe 2-4 times a week for each. I'm uncertain how this affects my plant though, haha.

well let me be completely honest... i don't know shit. but with that being said...

i would think you would might want to pluck those leaves that are decaying to rid the plant of the infection... but i could be COMPLETELY WRONG! i don't know, maybe someone on here could better clarify.

as well, i heard that if you use molasses it helps the plant itself and acts as a natural repellent -- which to be honest would seem to be the opposite; but what do i know. basically just mix about a tablespoon or so--sometimes more--of molasses in with a gallon of water and pour that into a spray bottle.

i need to do some more research before i could actually better answer this question for you, but i hope this helps. cheers.

hahaha i love this. so true. "organic" and "natural" and all these hot key words are merely marketing and advertisement tools being used to lure in consumers who are tired of this "unhealthy" stuff. most of the "organic" and "natural" shit is the same exact stuff.

haha yeah... me too.

i will say though coffee is horrible for you and has no benefit -- other than "energy" which you can easily obtain through eating real whole food (which is quite impossible to find to be honest, unless you raise it all yourself and obtain the non-hybrid produce seeds, which are quite expensive i believe; but what do i know) and even more energy by consuming a true Sativa's Cannabinoids.

Earlier I plucked the lower leaves off of the plant, but it this didn't seem to help at all, so I stopped.

oh ok, good idea.

and here is what i found... i would try using these: garlic (ground), peppers (hot/spicy, ground), and sugar (molasses). here is what they wrote down on -- i don't necessarily know if i would follow it exactly, like "one gallon spray bottle" you can use a smaller one, just use a jug to mix it all; and if you use ground powder you won't have to blend it.

Things You'll Need:

  • One gallon container with loose fitting lid
  • One tbsp. seaweed
  • Two to three garlic bulbs
  • Blender
  • Water
  • One tbsp. molasses
  • Two habanera or cayenne peppers
  • One gallon spray bottle "

what do you mean by that?? Dirt?

yeah i looked at it... i can't really determine much. i would just try what i mentioned with molasses and stuff -- there are many possibilities to what it could be, and to be honest i don't know shit.
