Currently running a 600w hps in the flower room. Using a 6in fan temps are around 77 for the highs. My fan pulls from the inside of the room, and blows it outside. My room is 4x8...so obviously I want to go to a 1000w. I'm sure my temps are going to go above 85° though, and pulling across 8ft of space(if I pulled air from outside the room) wouldn't be enough for my fan. I have some extra inlines laying around can I do a push and pull method? Not sure what the downside of that would be...negative pressure in my hood? Running a OG vertical hood.

With an 8x4 you would get better coverage with 2 x 600 hps rather than 1 x 1000w.
As far as ventilation passive is fine in tents with flaps and vents that open but In a room an intake would probably suit you better.
It depends on if the room is air tight, but an intake will mean less strain on your extraction, your fan wont be overworked and thus run smoother and quieter.
As for pushing and pulling, a good 6" inline fan can pull through filter and 8ft of ducting no worries. Your intake would be better served providing fresh cool air to the grow area while the extractor pulls the heat out.

EDIT perhaps though I have misunderstood how your set up works or your question.

My ballast is adjustable to 1000w, not upgrading anything but a bulb lol

My fan is 440cfm, didn't think 8 ft was the right calculation that I had read.

So you're saying have a fan pulling air into the room,

and keep pulling my hood from the room? Just don't wanna waste $80 on a bulb and it be to hot lol

I cant tell you how hot your room will be because it comes down to ambient temps in your area.
Its impossible to light up an 8 x 4 though with a 1000w HPS, they cover a 5x5 area, best you could hope for is 6x4 in your space.
All you can do is try it. Worst case you have to double up on extraction by using your other fans.
Most fan calculations are based on exchanging the air out of the room for co2 depletion, not for temp rise.

Oh I def knew the full 4x8 wouldn't be covered. I use a couple feet of the room for space. My fan, humidifier, dehumidifier. Just wanted 2 more plants and more intensity. Just found out a buddy said I could use 1 of his bulbs, to try out how hot it will get. So hands gonna give it a go here in a few hours.

Speaking of co2, really wanna get it air tight...results seems INSANE.

Just an update temps are at 79-81. So it worked out perfect! Thanks for your help
