Upgrading/ adding sup. lighting to HLG 550 V2s to closer match HLG 600 Rspec

Hi All, I have four HLG 550 V2s, but have moved on to HLG 600 Rspecs that I am having much better results with. My question is if anyone has a suggestion on what I should add to supplement the red spectrum missing from the 550s. The differences I am seeing are pretty significant, with the only variable being the two models of lights. (Using same soil mix, same cloned strain, same environment, watering schedule, etc) The Rspecs are rocking out for sure! But I am constantly running into Mag defs with the 550s despite going heavy on the epsom salt treatments, keeping temps up around 78-80, and turning them down. Really just kind of hoping someone has experienced this, and may have found a solution. I don’t want to have to put those four 550s in the giant retired equipment pile I already have! Thanks for any help in advance.

I have some hlg lights but don’t know anything about them and differences. A simplistic idea is what ever spectrum/supp is missing add it to the light through strips and try and figure how much to use. Or sell them and buy more r specs me and others is always looking for a good deal lol

Thanks for the reply Budman, I appreciate your help. I reached out to HLGs tech department. They said the reds in the Rspec are 660nm, which they don’t sell separately. They reiterated what you said I should do and just add sup 660nm to better match the two fixtures spectrums. I think part of my problem comes from growing organically, and not being able to up my nutrient regiment so the plants can keep up with the light intensity, but that’s another topic, although I am not having any issues with the Rspecs. I’m going to try to find something to sup the 660 nm (not sure about amount) and give that a try. Happy growing!!
