That tent is really made for a 600w light, but you can probably get away with a 1000w light. Not sure how much of a heat problem you will have tho, but you will have a lot of heat in that size tent.

disagree 400 2x2 ... 600 3x3... 1000 4x4... follow that for the best results.. you can stretch the light a little further but results will diminish ...

I totally disagree. 3x3=400w, 4x4=600w. Go higher than that with a 600w in a 4x4 and you will run into a lot of heat.

Of the 4 choices for hoods, I like number 2 the best.

Let me take some time to answer this post.. Yes if you want to run 1000 watts in 4x4 its more then possible...first you need to know the ambient temps in the room your setting the tent up in .. With a good inline fan and air cooled hood your tent will run about 5 degrees to 8 degrees hotter then your room the tent is in .. during lights on. Closer to 5 degrees.. since I get a 6-8 degree rise with 2000 watts

So basically .. If my bedroom is 70 degrees my grow room temps during lights on are more then manigable (75-78) .. as long as the room your growing in has decent temps then you wont have problems.

A 600 will work in that area.. and will create a little less heat... but you will have more yield and better results with the 1000. SO its up to you if you wanna cool the tent properly. If your room the tent is in maintains temps under 75 degrees your grow room temps will be managable. All you will need is a 6 inch or better inline fan .. and a air cooled hood. If you need help with then venting just ask.

TRUST me its very possible.. I have a small bedroom for my grow... Im in Socal in the desert its 100+ all summer... in my grow room I have 500watts of t5 lights and 2000 watts of HPS in a 8x4 tent in the same room.. I still keep my temps under 82 degrees. I have no dedicated AC for my grow room.. I just vent well and keep my house around 73-77 degrees.

( if I was gonna use a 600 I would use a 3x3 tent... Or use the 4x4 but not fill it entirely.... This is all matter of opinion .. Like hard dense nugs... I like to grow sativa's and not worry about them being fluffly lol. 1000 is optimum for that space a 600 is OK

Haven't used the ballasts you're talking about, but the Badass Ballasts from Advanced Nutrients are working well for me...

Premium Japanese electronics provide you unmatched reliability, function & efficiency for easier, more effective lighting

Your home and garden are safer because your new ballast has internal heat shielding and radio frequency shielding so no leakage, no detection

You get flawless performance backed by an unconditional bumper to bumper 7 year warranty, the longest in the industry

You save money on bulbs and have more flexibility because your new ballast powers metal halide and high pressure sodium bulbs and reads them using microcomputers

I know it's sales copy, but they word it better than I could. LOL I'd just say they're good and they have a great warranty. Which is also true. :)
