Update to what I am up to lately

So I harvested the shitty plants that were left and got exactly 50g. This one is almost done, a few weeks left. I started a GG#4 photo and the two little ones are the same WW autos. I have a 4th plant which has not popped out of the soil yet, also a GG#4. They all were planted at different times unfortunately. My plan is, when the autos are done I will flip the two photos to flower. Also got a new hlg QB100 V2 for supplemental lighting next to to the cobs.

Hope that 4th plant GG#4 pops soon or she’s gonna be really Behind. Planning topping everything, but topping the gg’s multiple times.

This round I plan on mixing a lot of perlite into the pots. I have not watered much since germination and planting, actually once in total. Trying to learn from previous over watering mistakes.

FFOF soil, FF tiger bloom, calmag, PK booster for flower, and microbes. Of course I won't be adding much of that for a long time, mainly just small doses of calmag.

If anyone has grown GG#4 give your input on anything related. I have never grown it, but I do enjoy it.

I found my particular pheno of GG4 was a fast tall grower. Had it in with 3 other strains and it needed a lot more lst and super cropping than the others to keep the canopy in control. Great smoke though. Smallish buds.

I got to keep it low as my tent hieght Is only 5ft with the lights, that’s my biggest concern. Scrog is my move with 2 plants, small Tent

Mine was a first grow in over 20 years so even though I had read about Scrog I wasn’t going to attempt just yet. They were clones I got from a friend with no info other then they were GG4. This go around I’m managing height much better but no GG. 02D2045C-2834-4E12-9B40-29083C561175.jpeg

I run GG4, shes a good plant. Pretty easy to grow. I feed her around 1300 PPM when shes an adult. She doubles in size after flip. Likes pH at 6.5. Yields are good, bud is dank and should be pretty dense.

nice! good to hear. did she get tall for you? I hear the GG gets pretty tall if you let it.

Yeah shes blows up. I need plants that get huge because I am limited by plant count and want yield. She makes fat frosty colas that need support. If you train her she will make a ton of bud shoots from the branch nodes and thus lots of logs.

great to hear! the second GG popped out of the soil today so we gtg now. was getting worried she wasn't going to come through. How long did you veg them for?

Check my grow journal link. This round I vegged about 50 days from rooted clones that were cut about 20 days into flower, first 40 of those days under metal halide, last ten moved to flowering rooms and trellised, hit with CO2 and DE HPS. I should have vegged this round about 4 or 5 days longer, this round didn't get as tall as I usually get them.

I have a question about microbes. The microbes I bought are 5-0-1. I am currently using Ffof. I feel like adding 5-0-1 to the soil will cause me to be completely over Nuted as the soils run off currently is 560ppm with just ph’d water. What do I do here? I want to add microbes for the benefits but I might burn the shit out of them. Also how often should microbes be added? Plants are fairly young.

Get microbes that don't have a NPK component.

If you use microbes for 2 weeks straight and feed them with simple sugars like AN Carboload or just molasses then you will establish a colony that will last a while. Then just give a booster of microbes once a week and keep the simple sugars coming every water to feed them.

Shit. Wasted my cash on this, thought I was doing right.

Got a little issue. GG#4 has been having some issues. Lost the lower two 2 sets of leaves already. Looked like a mag eficiency perhaps from ph. Checked my ph meter sure enough it’s showing higher than the drops. Was off by about .5. So when it was reading 6.3 it was actually 5.8 or even lower. Corrected the ph but It’s looking kind of pale and with some brown spots forming again on these top leaves. Run off was 6.5 the last time I watered. The good news is by cutting off the lower to sets the inner lower nodes have taken off and don’t have any spots at all (you can’t see them from the pic).

Always good to calibrate a pH meter on a regular basis. Some need it more often than others. My blue lab pen is pretty stable but I do use it daily, calibrate weekly but it's rarely off when I do. I have had others that needed calibration daily.

Good thing you caught it quickly.

I wondering if it is still showing the damage from the low ph. I wish I took pics of the leaves I cut off, it was 100% a mag issue. I knew instantly knew it was the ph causing it as the plant is so young. I just hope I don’t lose these top leaves as well. But I have a bad feeling I might now that they are showing the spots again.

Tied her down last night and already the bottoms are coming up and her head has turned up. Planning on vegging these GG girls a while so they gotta stay low. Next I will start topping when she gets a little older. I wanna take 4 clones off of her and her sister behind her when they mature.
