unread visitor message wont go away

It's been there for almost 2 months now. I got a visitor message on 2-15-12, I read it, and ever since I have had "notifications: 1" at the top of my screen. Somewhat annoying. How do I resolve it? I read the message like 100 times so far.

I am seeing this too....did you ever figure it out?

Ah, yes, thank you.

I will bump this thread, only so often as to keep it alive,
until the matter is resolved.

I am sure that it is something stupid, but I did the search
and found the question being asked, but not answered, by
another poster.

It seems legit enough to wait for a response. No rush. :0)

It says unread messages, but I can see 3 of 3 on the screen!
