the plant atm is in late stages of preflower and has seemed to slow down on the vertical growth. is this normal? i do like that its small and was wondering if keeping the lights close would keep it shorter?? and if keeping it in preflower has any negative affects???

preflower isn't really a stage different from veg. your plant can show preflowers when they're sexually mature. clones are always mature so they often always show preflowers. having the lights close will minimize stretching.

your plant looks nice though.. nice structure, good growth, obviously good genetics. what strain??

so its been a few weeks and we are at 4 weeks of flower now i have a bunch of good pics. let me know what you think, are they far enough along, are they an ok size?? possible yield predictions?? and i didnt mention this before but for flower im using a 150 hps with supplemental cfls.

That looks identical to some OG Platinum that I have still in veg. (About the same size.)

And yes, when you switch over to Flowering, the vertical growth will slow. Perfectly normal. JealousGreen makes a good point below I think regarding lighting.

Farmer Tom uses metal halides during flowering to keep the stem growth as tight as possible. Blue light is great for keeping the plants from stretching out during flowering.

Metal Halides also put off (Of course) more Ultra Violet Radiation. The more UV the plant receives, the more THC it will produce. ;)

Good Luck!
