unknown animal problem need suggestions

I have 4 plants in 6 gallon pots outdoors. 3 days ago I went to check on them and some unknown animal had eaten 8 fan leaves off one of my 2 ft plants. I didn't know if it would survive but the top 2 sets were still intact so I let it go and checked today and it is still growing nice and green and got larger. Well when that happened I put a large amount of Animal Repellent I got from walmart around the pot area in a large amount. This stuff contains sulfur, pepper, vinegar, and a buncha shit animals are supposed to hate. 3 days later (today) I go out there and my best plant my 4 ft female was tipped right over laying on the ground, the animal didnt damage it nontheless so I just put it back up, and one of the other pots looked like something was digging through the soil. I also foliar spray these plants with neem oil weekly because I had a powder mildew problem early in the season which has went away since I started using the neem.

What can I do? I'm not sure what kind of animal it is but it seems like its not very large as it was only digging in my smallest pot which is a 3 gallon and is not as tall as the others. Also its that same plant that it ate the leaves off so im assuming it isnt able to reach into the tall 6 gallon pots. The animal repellent isnt working, my manly urine isnt working, and the animal ate the leaves dispite them being soaked with stinky ass neem oil just one night earlier. This thing seems desperate and just dont give a fuck

Feedback! What do you think it is? What do I do? I live in upper michigan if that helps at all and its a slightly swampy area in the middle of woods.

look for prints around the area .... u could try setting up a trap for whatever it is ... or build a fence around them ..... show some us pics....

Are your pots standing on the ground or did you dig them in? Chicken wire is the ultimate solution against rodents. I learned that the hard way.

I had a similar problem with racoons and another riu member recommended i try some wild cat urine, here's the link he gave me http://www.rpoutdoors.com/rpurine.html. total cost was around $12 and shipping only took a couple days and it was well worth it. not a single trace of any raccoons around there at all now. my dog wont even go near there. it doesnt take much so buy the small bottle, it should last u all season. it smells pretty bad but works like a charm.

The pots are just sitting on the ground i didnt want to dig them down because its a swampy area where the pots are, just walking around there my feet get soaked everytime. I wanted to put them where I nobody would want to go ever lol. I figured 5 gallons of soil would be heavy enough to not worry about them tipping over but this fucking animal is ruthless as hell.

And yeah shooting it lol you dont even know... I was seriously going to sit in a tree with my 12 gauge and a 12 pack and wait for movement. Thats another thing 2 times recently when I went out there something ran from where my pots were, this was the day before the shit went down. It was fast and small. Possibly a rabbit I see shitloads of rabbits in the area. I never see racoons so I doubt thats what it is.

that urine should deter just about anything, unless its a wildcat and then ur probably just gonna attract more

trap... haha shoot that motherfucker!
ya definetly if possible but coons comeout at night like alot of creature u never know when they will be coming and if they sense u there they wont come around and it would take 2 pepole one with a gun one with a spot light i dont think i want to do all that for a lousey coon i could set a trap for .... but yea cat urine works wonders for rodents and such .. if u got a local hunting store such as dicks gander mtn bass pro u could always get it there or order it...

Dont use traps! If other people notice these traps they will get a little curious and may find your plants! Every time you visit your plants piss around them and on them A LITTLE BIT NOT TOO MUCH! take a bar of soap and a knive and widdle the soap around your crop. be sure to keep your distance if your plants are in the ground the soap will dissolve into the ground and into your plant and can cause some serious harm. rub soap around nearby trees as well.

if u were gonna trap something u would put it by whatever it was eating not away from your crop so if someone found the trap that means they found your crop .... the key to trapping is to disguse the trap there are many differnt kinds of traps to that are very easy to hide... but still go with the urine cheapest way unless u own traps..
