Just read the entire thread, it was a great read! So many pictures an interesting things to read about, definitely learned a bunch. Thanks a lot Woodsman for the knowledge!

PS. Lovin' the MTU x Carolina, I would kill for some of those seeds!

Was Out for the Count, Had Medical Issues to contend with...

While I was gone, I have had a friend "care give" for me, and I thought I would share what he grew for me.

Enjoy, Glad to be back...

New Garden Comming Soon Stay Tuned!

The First Photos are of AUH#2. At 60 Days
This will be grown out to 80-85 days.

The next set of photos are of Jacks Cleaner. Its about 35ish days or so. Its a 60 day plant before I am happy with it. It will see all of that

35 or so days into flower.

The small particles that you see stuck to the plant are pieces of vermiculite that my invasive predator management army left behind. My buddy has done well by me in that hes grown some fine medicine for me however I am not a big fan of Spider Mites. I also am not a big fan of tasting neem oil. So I ordered Spider mite predators that were delivered in vermiculite. I then sprinkled this onto the plants where the two species can directly battle... No harm from the vermiculite. It can easily be brushed away.

New to me, I was just introduced. After smoking some of this bud alone in a clean bong, this one is impressive! Not much of a looker, but fine smoke indeed!:blsmoke:

Auto Alaska: Lowrider X Alaskan Ice

Last Survivor: Extremely Strong growing plant brought back to Alaska from Iraq. The man that brought it back, had been on a mission killing pigeons from the room tops of buildings where they had been used by the enemy to signal US military presence. After a long day of boring bird bashing, he came upon a cage with only a single dove in it, and inside the cage was a budded branch from a cannabis plant. The buds were thought to have been contaminated and thus were not smoked, however the seeds were kept.

Hell yeah woodsman! glad to see you back around. Hope things are all squared away with the medical issues... I was hoping you didn't have an accident out there in the bush. Plants are looking purdy nice there. Take care my friend-boulderheads

Glad to see you're still kickin', and growing woodsman. :)

I was hoping to run that blue strain, but now it looks like I may be relocating after my next harvest. Everything is up in the air.

The plants look great. Happy harvest :bigjoint:

Update Tonight~

Well folks, I have taken on the task of "care giving" for a close friend. This brings my numbers 12 plants, 6 in flower.

The new list: AUH#2 "of course", Lemon Skunk, Vortex, PPP, Pandora's Box X White Rhino, Chocolope, Jacks Cleaner 2, The Third Dimension.

I also have Carolina Blue, and Pandora's Box X Jilly Bean. These will be hanging out for a few months doing the veg.
*BIG PLANTS for the flowering room next spring*

The Garden is just getting started, I have a new room being designed and am simply getting the seeds started at this point. A few clones of Jacks Cleaner 2 have been LST'd for a closet run.

I will photo from here as to show rate of growth with various nutrient brands and feeding regiments, as well as strain differences through veg growth into flower. Enjoy.

Woodsman, very nice thread, pics, descriptions, stories, just awesome! And the plants are beautiful! scribed....:blsmoke:

Update:

Well the Jacks Cleaner 2 clones are first to flower so I will start with updating you folks on these.

These first photos are of Two clones just after rooting. *cloning tip* If using soil to clone by placing the un-rooted stem directly into medium, start by using a clear plastic cup as the container. Once planted, place that cup into another non see though. This will alow you to check on the rooting as you wish, without exposing the new roots to light during growth.

Getting Older:

After transplanting to the final container, LSTing/bonsi becomes the main objective to uniformly prepare the plants for Scrog.

*Jacks Cleaner 2 responds well to LSTing as you will see.

NO TOPPING has been done.

There has been some time between these last photos and now, so I will add a few other photos and topics to illustrate keeping busy while there is "down time".

As you may have seen or remember from previous runs, not all plants have done well and some simply just didn't "do".

Not all is lost when you keep your loss around. What I mean by all of this, is that all of those yellow leaves that you pull off, all of those sticky stems that get tossed, even plants that were killed due to unforeseen circumstances can be used in the making of Hash.

There are many methods to extracting hash and bubble being my favorite to smoke, its not allways easy. Some methods require more than others and some require not much at all. What I would like to show you folks today is a method called Butane Extraction. This method can be HIGHLY dangerous and should not be attempted by any one un-familiar with the dangers of explosive gas.

To get started, you will need a few things.

Obviously bio matter is needed. (leaves, stems, premature buds, dead buds, etc)

You will need Butane. The bottle must be designed for filling lighters.

Glass plate, bowl, jar etc. (keeping in mind that you will want to remove the oil from the container you may want to choose a container that your hand can fit into easily.

Razor blades are handy for scraping.

Extractor: This can be built for a few bucks out of your local hardware store.

NOTE: This is a very crude design that I am sure could be refined. I will be leaving out the actual spraying of butane hash onto the glass as that step is where I feel I do not have an efficient method.

Now, if you look at the photo of the extractor and think "I could build that" then you most likely can. However, if you think you need help in making it you probably shouldn't.

Getting Started:

I have found through trial and error, having 100% dry material works best.

What I like to do in order to fit as much material into the extractor as possible, is to simply grind it up.

This can be done with as simple a method as putting the material into a mesh sac and crunching it up by hand as to allow the smaller pieces to fall through.

Once you material is ground, pack it into the extractor and tighten down ever threaded piece as not to allow leakage. The extractor will be under pressure and can push the oil right out the threads if there is a leak; Or worse

When your material is packed tight, cap is on and you have made sure there are no leaks or a partially open valve, your ready to add butane.

NOTE: be sure when putting in your lighter fitting that you do not get anything on the tiny tube inside the fitting. This MUST be clear in order to get a proper seal for filling.

:!: DANGER :!:

If your all set and ready to fill:

BE SURE there are no flames near by, or objects that can cause static electrical sparks (dryers, refrigerator, etc.)

Butane gas can stay around for a long time and present problems if there is not proper venting.

MAKING IT:

Fill the extractor with as much butane as it will allow. Once full, allow the extractor to sit at room temp. Giving the butane time to wash the material seems to work best but for how long I can not recommend.

Slowly crack the valve and begin to spray the liquid onto your glass bowl, dish, etc.
The same material can be washed over and over until there is no more TCH to render.

What you should see first is a liquid spray containing a yellow tint. This is the mixture of Butane and Cannabis Oil. The butane will start to boil off at room temp *GAS EXPLOSIVE* leaving behind the oil.

One problem with butane extraction is the traces of butane that are left behind. If you do not give the oil proper time to separate from the butane, you will be smoking it.

TIP: Placing the container in warm water (NOT HOT or you will cook off your THC) speeds up the butane boiling process.

(PICS: This is what the oil looks like while there is still butane present. Notice the bubbles. I placed the ball into a bowl to show size and to allow you to see it free standing)

Once the oil has sat long enough to be smoked, it will be a clear amber color.

Given that it is genuine oil, placing it directly into a pipe would be a bad choice. I like to dip buds into the oil, smear it onto a paper for joint rolling, cook with it, etc. Enjoy!:blsmoke:

During "Down time"

I was sitting on a gravel point, over looking a lake. I had been smoking Arjans Ultra Haze 2, when a wolf walked out and stood looking at me for quite some time. I thought of you folks. I wished I could be sitting next to some of you on that very day, I wished you could see what I see...

I didnt have the chance to take a photo of the wolf...
